Does 2013 = Hot Seat for Sperbeck???

As far as Sperbeck and his staff, in the short period I've been following hornet football I've found it peculiar that some of his assistants have left for lateral positions or just quit.
Like who?

He left for MSU. Yes MSU has a bigger bank account, but to leave for the same position within the same conference, you have to wonder about the chemistry. If I remember correctly, he quit first then landed at MSU.
Don’t forget these threads:

He interviewed at NMSU before getting picked up by MSU. The Hornets have been anything but stellar on ST so I don’t mind the change…just wish Sperbeck would have brought in someone with ST experience.

The second thread is irrelevant. Even if it's NMSU, it's a step up- FBS. The former link is the same topic different conversation. It backs up the sense that I get sometimes, that this staff isn't cohesive as it should be for conducing a winning environment.

And yes, we're all aware of the ST woes the hornets have suffered thru. Once the season starts and progresses, we'll see if his coaching was the problem, the personnel or the coaching support.

My point is he didn’t leave for MSU; that is where he landed. Leaving for an FBS program (more $) makes sense, leaving to land at a fellow BSC program doesn’t make sense. He was coaching in his backyard (Modesto native) and uprooting for a lateral move (another FCS program) leads me to believe that he didn’t leave on his own terms.

What I do know is that last season’s staff didn’t get the job done, changes were made and hopefully the current staff can get the job done. We’ll see. Ultimately if this program can’t get to the next level then all the blame falls on Sperbeck, hence why he should (and does) make staff changes as he sees fit.

I think we're making too much of this. Coaching especially assistant coaching is a very transitory profession.
We don't know why coaches have left, to better position themselves for career advancement, conflicts with the head coach or to simply change careers, and it really don't make any difference.
The head coach has the responsibility and freedom to hire and fire staff and to make the administrative decisions as he sees fit. If his judgements are wrong and the program does not perform up to expectations it's on him.
