That other ISU, Indiana State, used a trick play on its kick return yesterday. It resulted in good field position and they won in the final minute...

What they did was change the rule so the play is still legal, but only if the kick receiver lines up with his back to the coverage team, and all of his teammates must is a position so any hand-off would either be lateral or backwards towards the end zone the receiving team is defending. The change was made to ensure that all hand-offs during such a play would be either lateral or backwards.

I was at that game that we ran the "globe of death. Feeling sad and disapointed at Boise scoring in the final minute, and wanting to beat the traffic, I left and missed the play.

I also was watching an ISU and Montana basketball game, and we were leading by 10 or 12 points with just a few minutes to go. Having it all "wrapped up" in my mind, I left. I turned on the radio to hear the final minute and Montana had tied it up and the game went into overtime. Not just one OT, but 4 overtimes. Not only did I miss the OTs, but I also missed the celebration as we did win. Some of us never learn.
