WITHOUT QUESTION the best post on this thread has come from Green Laser...

Having said that...I'm not questioning whether Angus is a competent HC candidate and if/when the job comes open there's no doubt he WILL come after it. But, no Sac State coordinator has ever made what Jonny is making at ARC, so I seriously doubt Coach O is walking away from his current HC position to be an assistant coach at Sac State.

I agree

Sears deserved a new contract after last season = True

Sears need to let go after this upcoming season (hoping that we only gave him a 2-3 year extension after season) = True

Reality is, it's easier for Mid-major FCS schools to get recognition through basketball than football (except for NDSU). So honestly, if Orr can allocate the right resources to our basketball program, I'll be happy = True

Sears need to go = True

Sears need to go = True

Sears need to go = True

I don't care about injuries, Sears need to go - True

Time to revamp that coaching search = True

This post = true

Not buying the injury excuse. The defense disappeared after the SDSU game, and the offense (specifically the passing game) has played like crap ever since the 2nd half of the montucky game. This roster wasn't riddled with all the injuries back then...and actually most of the key players were still available (according to the participation reports) going back to the CP game which was coming off a bye week. I guess you can use the injury excuse for the SUU games and beyond, but the season was over by then anyways so who cares.

Sears is 5 years in, there is no excuse for posting another 2 win season at this point...especially losing as badly as we have to awful teams with nearly 25% of the roster being seniors.

Also the talk about dropping FB is nonsense, FB isn't going anywhere. The FB budget and the overall athletics budget is healthy and has increased 844% and 537%, respectively, between fiscal years '03 and '17. Orr just needs to due his due diligence to find/hire the right HC when the time comes.

Wulff's '16 total pay (not including benefits) was just over $2k more than Coach O's total pay in '17.

Didn't think you would get so easily triggered from a post containing basic public info. I'm sure your current numbers are correct as you've never struggled with the maths on this board before.

Basic antiquated public info that you are trying to pass off as currently factual just so you would have something to contribute to this thread.
C'mon...you're better than that.

Another embarrassing loss yesterday - Sears punting in Weber territory down late in the 4th, running the same running plays second and third and long. Clapper complete inability to throw with any accuracy or downfield. All of our WR options shelved for the season? The defense playing 3rd stringers pretty much across the board - except for Harriel who is terrible in coverage.

As bad as it is - at least a lot of guys are getting chances to play, and I wouldn’t say the squad has given up. Might as well give Hammish McClure the causeway game and I believe he’ll still be able to RS playing four or less games.

The morning zoo style Weber announcers were brutally honest about our situation ands Sears’ decision-making, and they weren’t wrong...

You do realize that CY '18 isn't over so those numbers aren't finalized are not public yet, right?

I used Wulff's '16 total pay because 1) that was his first year on the books as a Hornet FB coordinator, and 2) it already surpassed local JC HC pay levels. If I really wanted to embarrass you I would have used Wulff's '17 total pay because it surpassed O's total pay by $11k (and over $30k when you factor in benefits)...

...but yeah let's use "your current numbers" and pretend that a Hornet FB coordinator position doesn't, or can't, pay better than a local JC HC position.

Let me see if I'm following you...

1.If the SD Genius can't access the information on a computer, it doesn't exist.

2. The only information that is accurate is what the SD Genius can access.

3. No one with a current contract and/or other stable source of income will know how much money they are going to make in 2018 until next year when they look it up on a computer or ask the SD Genius.

Get ready to lose big!

You should know all about losing big after last Saturday's game at Eastern Washington!

Boy, MBA pretty much put that one on a tee for ya!

It is kind of sad to see no activity on the pages here. You guys always had a pretty healthy board with some passionate fans. But i understand the frustration....i think that was the feeling on the other side of the Causeway the final year of the failed Gould era.

Any word on Thomson's status?

No way Thomson plays - he’s on track for a medical RS for one of his UNLV seasons. I think the best we can hope for is he comes back healthy next year. Lindsey and Ratliff are out of eligibility, they may be out of luck. This season’s been an unmitigated disaster. They might as well cancel the Causeway - Sears has lost this team.

Okay, per game notes - Thomson is done for the year and Wyatt Clapper will not play in the Causeway Classic. The team will start Hamish McClure, Angus’ true frosh son and perhaps mix in Tristan Meyer, RS FR.
