Watch: Former Portland State star Donovan Olumba takes ‘pick-six’ to the house for the Dallas Cowboys
Donovan Olumba has reportedly had a strong training camp and preseason for the Dallas Cowboys. However, he remains on the roster bubble as the cutdown deadline for teams’ initial 53-man roster for Week 1 of the regular season approaches.
The second-year cornerback and former Portland State Vikings’ star added a highlight to his resume with a pick-six interception during the Cowboys’ loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their final preseason game Thursday night. Olumba caught a deflected pass and returned the pick 26 yards for a touchdown early in the first quarter. Watch

Olumba, who signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2018, posted four tackles in the game. He has posted 11 total tackles, three passes defended and the interception in four preseason games in 2019.
While Olumba has performed well this season, it may not be enough to earn a roster spot when the Cowboys trim their roster from 90 to 53 players by the deadline on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT. The Cowboys are stacked at cornerback and there may not be enough room for Olumba.
