I didn't know former ISU men's coach Doug Oliver was an assistant for Irvine's women's team this past season...

Doug Oliver, who has spent time on the men's and women's basketball coaching staffs at UC Irvine, has expressed interest in the school's women's basketball coaching vacancy, Darrin Nelson, a senior associate athletic director in charge of the search for a new coach, said Tuesday.

I've heard some coaches say that they would never choose to coach a men's team again after coaching a women's team.

Speaking of women's jobs, USU's is open. Some of their fans mentioned Seton as a possiblity. Think it is a step up in Logan or the WAC for women's basketball?

Well if Utah State gets invited into the Mountain West, then yes, it's most definitely a step-up as far as conference's are concerned, but ISU's support of women's basketball is really good as far as fan-wise, and admin-wise. Some schools don't make WBB a priority, but with Tingey and Co., that is most certainly not the case.

As I say that, UNM averages like 7,000 for WBB LOL.

It will be a good year for anyone to come into women's basketball at ISU if that is the case. After winning their conference championship, and due to the fact that there were no Seniors on the team, they should return all their starters. That fact makes it kinda hard for the incoming freshman in a way. Lindsey Reed will be a Junior this year, so expect two more great years from her. These girls should make any coach look good. Now we need the men's program to catch up with the women's program.
