With all the excitement about the pistol offense, of which my only knowledge is from what I've read, what do you think Drew Hubel will do next year? I keep reading that the pistol works best with a pretty mobile qb... is that true? He's always been one of my favorites to watch, but he doesn't seem too mobile. Does he try to earn the starting spot or transfer? I hope he is on the field for us next year somehow. If not, I hope he transfers and ends up an all-american somewhere.

Either way, he's sure had some amazing games. Don't think I'll ever forget the Weber St game his freshman year or the EW game with the 623 yards.

Unlike JG, I think Burton will avoid sacrificing continuity for the sake of going cold turkey with a new offense. You know how JG ran off Ali and some other really talented players who didn't fit the R&S instead of phasing in that offense over the course of a couple of seasons? I think Burton is smart enough to install the new schemes gradually if that is what will retain players and get wins in the short run.

While that may be true, I think Burton will favor a faster QB then Hubel. He can't just take away an entire phase of the offense for the sake of a few players. A lot of the pistol offense deals with riding the running back and reading the defense on whether to hand it off or run yourself. The pistol is more of a modernized option offense in the shotgun.

I think Kavanaugh is perfect for this system, but so is Nick Green. And you never know, maybe Burton goes out and recruits his own QB. We will have to wait and see.

Should be fun to watch all of this unfold.

Looks like Drew is on the shelf for the season, but will redshirt.
