I like to follow the E-Griz football forum as it provides some highly entertaining reading. The sheer number of E-Griz posters with some form of chemical imbalance (genetic and/or personally induced) seems quite high. Although many of the posters on E-Griz are football experts, they follow a leader by the screen name ”JAKEweezy93” an academic type, no doubt an alum of The University of Montana. Another E-Griz participant with leadership aspirations is “ALPHAGRIZ1”. However, the many temper tantrums, mean-spirited posts and the desire that he/she has on “Screamin_Eagle174” and “Lakesbison” reduces his/her potential as a legitimate leader of the Griz.

I have followed their recruiting forum and I applaud the E-Griz posters for their level of optimism given the dire straits their football program is facing next year and years to come. “Paytonlives” is E-Griz’s recruiting investigator who seems to e-stalk potential recruits, providing data to the forum’s experts. These experts disregard facts provided by “Paytonlives” and propagate rumors and provide absurd speculation that sustains the forum.

Reading their Recruiting forum has brought me to the following conclusions:
1) Every verbal commit they get will be “a game changer”
2) Every verbal commit they get “must have slipped through the fingers of the Pac 12”
3) Bellevue High School in Washington is their new pipeline of talent, and only for them.
4) Their head coach was a booger-eaten moron during the 2012 season but they love him now because he is an awesome recruiter who can really relate to the athletes.
5) Any recruit the Bobcats sign regardless of talent level would never have made it as a Griz.

Spot on, but you're just now noticing this?

Ranger, I started following these forums early last fall. First with the Eags forums and then found the Griz forum. I really enjoy the Eags forum. The Griz forum is entertaining in a sick way. The level of dysfunction, infighting and sophmoric behavior is remarkable. I am an alum of both universities but EWU is my university. :)

I started this thread by saying how I liked to follow eGriz because it was entertaining. My view has changed in the last couple weeks as I followed the rape trial where the ex Grizzly quarterback, Jordan Johnson was the accused. Many of you already know that Jordan Johnson was found not guilty.

Many (not all) of the same posters on eGriz that I thought were comical are reacting in disturbing ways. Beyond the childish, sexist remarks and chest thumping, many of these grown men seem to care more about getting their quarterback back on the field then the damage this trial has done to both parties and their families.

The banter and crap talk about football was entertaining, but many responses to the outcome of this trial are troubling and those fans have lost perspective if they ever had any.

No more eGriz for me.

Yep. I try to limit my interaction over there. Sometimes it is good for a real laugh, though. I mean, there are some real pieces of work that post over there. Gives you some real insight into the fan base.

Does it seem like our program is still down and out to you now? Maybe some of the recruits are helping as predicted. Just curious about your thoughts.

Still down, yes
Out, no
You will be a factor in the BSC this year but I do not feel as dominant as in previous years and as recent as 2011
