Eagle defense and 4th down play

Another very emotional and fun game to watch! I had two questions about the above for the more knowledgable fans here.

First, the Eagle defense is amazing, and has that bend but not break personality that reminds me alot of the championship team. That being said, the defense really stepped it up in the 2nd half of the game, and even spent literally the entire 4th quarter on the field. Was the 2nd half success attributable to any specific changes made by EWU at halftime, did the MSU play calling stagnate, or were we simply that much more physical and wore their o-line down?

Secondly, what exactly was going on on the 4th down play in the first quarter? I'm not questioning the call, but couldn't really figure it out.

Really enjoying the Root sports coverage of the Big Sky over here in the Puget Sound area, but that was the last EWU game they will show. Obviously the viewing audience and advertising dollars are all coming from Montana.

I don't know this for certain, but I *suspect* based on the personnel that they wanted to call an audible back into a normal kicking set and take the FG. Adams read it wrong, miscounted MSU players flanked against the formation or something, and took the snap. It looked like an absolute clown of a 4th down, totally messed up.

What really tweeked me was the 3rd down and inches call before this one. They lined the back up 8 yards deep and haded it to him on a slow developing play. That sucks... the defense knows what's likely coming, making the OL sit there and hold blocks while a play develops sort of defeats the whole purpose. We need to get lined up 3 yards deep and just hand it to the RB as he hits the hole.
