Eagles in Canada

I've been watching CFL following our Eagles up north.
JC Sherrit just scored his first TD in Canadian football and the first thing he said when on the bench was a shoutout to Eastern Washington! Woo Hoo.
Thanks JC
BLM has pulled the Stampeders to victory in the last two games with outstanding performances.
Ryan Phillips just started his 200th game in Canada and has been a star his entire career.
All making the Eagle nation proud!

Nichols took over the starting job two weeks ago and is tearing it up going 59-80 for 646, 4 TD's and no picks. Great to see him finally healthy and given a shot.

His clipboard holding skills are really improving. He hasn't had a lot of playing time. 4 Qbs on the team; sits currently as #3 with the 4th on the injured list. The Starting QB is 37 year old CFL legend Kevin Glenn, with back up duty from former Marshell QB Cato Rakeem (still scratching my head why Cato wasn't scooped up in the NFL draft).

Nichols has now led Winnipeg to 3 straight.

Though every player in the Bombers locker room can take some credit for the turnaround, perhaps none is more deserving than quarterback Matt Nichols. In three games under Nichols, who replaced an underwhelming Drew Willy as the starter in Week 6, the Bombers have three wins.

Seen more as a journeyman throughout his six CFL seasons, playing mostly as a backup in Edmonton and then Winnipeg, Nichols appears to have finally found his niche. With each passing week he’s proven to be not only a reliable starter, but bona-fide talent.

The 29-year-old product of Eastern Washington University has taken a team averaging less than 20 points per game through the first five weeks to one averaging more than 33 over the past three games.

Nichols has not only amped up the air attack, completing 71 per cent of his passes for 796 yards and five touchdowns during that stretch, but has helped bring life to the ground game.
