this will be a tough game. East Carolina has a couple of good inside players who average 19 and 8 (Kemp) and 9 and 9 (Armstrong). Plus, their guards do a great job of distributing the ball - 2nd in the country in total assists per game. They start 3 6-8 guys but, at least in the last game, they went smaller for much of the game with 3 guards and two bigs. Hope Bolomboy can play and play effectively. We will need his defense and rebounding.

Kemp for E Carolina made Sports Center Top #3 yesterday. Looks like a very athletic team.

Their fan board is boneyardbanter.com

There fans seem to be impressed with our arena, home record, attendance...

They are worried about elevation, which is ridiculous.

If somebody besides catcat posts over there maybe they won't think all Weber fans are geeks with post after post of stats & trivia...

Games in this tournament continue to get harder and harder, (which is the way it should be) I'm very glad we are hosting this game. ECU is a good team, but I do think the VERY long travel + altitude + very big, loud Dee crowd will be too much for ECU to overcome. GO WILDCATS

Good afternoon from Greenville NC. Our team left this afternoon for Ogden. Should be a great game. Our Pirates like to run but play the half court game to. We can play big or small our opponent will dictate size. Kemp is our best player he's 6'8 very athletic and can run the floor. Our point guard is a Missouri transfer who can flat out play. He can score from the outside as well as take it to the basket plus he's a great passer. He led CUSA in assists for the last two years. Both players were first team CUSA. For you old guys Ralph Sampson's son Robert plays power forward for us. He's 6'8 225 and is our best rebounder. He had 13 pts and 14 boards against Evansville.

Here is some video of the team in action.

Evansville last night.

Thanks for letting me post on your board.

Welcome Tom. We are glad to host such a good team. We may have lost some of our depth inside. It should be a good game. We tend shoot really well at home. Looks like defensively we need to keep out of foul trouble.

I'm an ECU fan as well, and I have lot of respect for your program. I remember when you guys beat UNC years ago, and to go 30-6 this year, the year after you put the rookie of the year in the NBA is pretty amazing and you guys didn't get nearly enough credit for any of it. Clearly you guys are doing it right and have some underrated talent and coaching, and digging into your stats the kind of domination you had on both ends might be more impressive than the record. We certainly have our work cut out for us. I know it's going to be a tough task but I was hoping we would get a chance to meet you guys in the finals because you got a better team than many of the NIT and NCAA participants. I'm looking forward to a great final.

We are a good offensive team,, decent on the perimeter defense, but our weaknesses have been interior D and rebounding all season. We actually have pretty good size but it's not really translated there, and our 6-10, 240lb back up center that was playing about 15 minutes a game has recently went out with injury and that leaves us a lot smaller. I think how well we do on the glass and low post D will determine this game or even if it's close. Also how big we play will depend a lot on Armstrong staying out of foul trouble. Kemp's a really special player that no one has really heard about. You mentioned the #3 best play on ESPN, and he had the #1 play the game before and the game yesterday he had 3 nasty dunks actually. Here is the top play from the previous game.

#1 play on ESPN first of the week.

Watched a video on your board about your run throught the CIT, great video, you guys look fast and athletic. We will definetely have our hands full.

We are a very good shooting team (minus the game @ UNI), and we are very very good defesively, we like to run and play fast paced, but we wont hesitate to play a little half court once and a while. We have a great balanced inside out game, we have some very talented big men in Otis and Tresnak, and our freshman Bolomboy has shone moments of great things to come. Our shooters are very good, Berry can take a game over and score 20+ points if he needs to, Scott Bamforth our senior guard is a pure shooter, do not leave him open. our other guards Wheelright And Richardson can go off as well, but have been quite inconsistant, Richardson plays great defense, but has gotten kind of cold since the start of this tourney. Wheelright can be very explosive, but more often than I would like, he likes to take bad shots and gets a little wild. Great Shooter though.

This is going to be a quality matchup, and I cant wait to watch it on Tuesday

I think before this tourny most pirate fans wouldn't have really classified our team as athletic. The more common strengths that would be pointed too were very strong ball handling and ball movement, and above average shooting ability. I think part of the disrespect we'd give to our own athletic ability though is getting caught up in trying to comparing our team to Memphis in our league or some of the ACC teams in the area like UNC we played or that are always on TV. We really don't have the caliber of athletes they do, few teams do. That said some of the teams we have faced in the CIT really have made us look athletic, plus with our 6-10 guy out we've had to play smaller at a lot of positions a lot more, so that's part of looking more athletic too. I still think ball movement is our strongest team attribute though.

Weber primarily plays a half court offense that focuses on getting the ball as close to the basket as possible. Yet, the Cats are an excellent shooting team. The UNI game was a total aberration. I haven't seen the Cats miss that many open threes in a few years. That doesn't happen very often. You can tell the guys are getting really tired. We run a lot of sets that can be changed depending on the player with the hottest hand. And play a tenacious man to man defense. Once in a while, and that is definitely one in a long while, the Cats will play a match-up zone. Our perimeter defense is the best I've seen out of a Weber team in a long time. There is a great reason why UNI couldn't hit their 3 pointers. Weber's defense was smothering.

I haven't been able to see much of the ECU Pirates (sorry that it said Panthers on our Website), but from what I have seen ECU is really good. You run the floor well and have a strong backcourt that is complemented nicely by Kemp. He looks like a great player. Really reminds me of a couple of Weber State greats.

Our interior defense is suspect so the fact you shoot 50% and are #1 in the nation in FG% concerns me. You don't shoot like that without getting a lot of easy stuff around the basket and being a deadly outside shooting team as well. You guys are #1 in 3's % too. Very impressive, and a lot of teams couldn't shoot that well in an open gym unguarded. We have an elite 3 point shooter, but he's been cold the last 3 games which actually makes how we've been beating teams down more impressive because he had been carrying us the previous 10 games averaging 20ppg off the bench.

I am really excited to see Kemp. He has a few huge dunks this year. I hope it an athletic fun game. After watching our game at UNI and NCAA tournament games this weekend. I am ready for some good offensive basketball! I don't think I have been this excited for a Weber game in 10 years.

Haha. A guy on the ECU fan board "isn't concerned against a team full of white Mormon boys." I suppose he's in for quite a surprise when he watches the Pirates match up with Mook, Joel, Berry, Gelaun, Royce and J-Rich.

Some of our younger fans are still learning tact. I'm looking for a great basketball game with lots of action.

Some more video .....

There is only one White Mormon kid on our team, and he is a Red-Shirt right now.

For both teams it's the same. No games after this one, nothing to hold back for, no additional travel plans, and the only tomorrow is next year. This will be epic.

Large, loud crowd, an animated student section, and a well earned championship for the wildcats.

Life can not get any better!

Weber rolls. 85 - 67

He must be getting confused with the white Mormon boys a few miles down south! BTW, those white Mormon boys aren't playing too badly right now either....not that we care.

Thanx for the kind words MT Jack. I think It's awesome that we all support each other in the BSC. I'm looking forward to next year to renew our Bball battles. Here's to finishing 31-6. Goooo Wildcats!
