Eastern Washington @ Portland State Thread

What's up with Ryan Cole this year? Is he injured, or just not getting the carries this year that he did last year?

Cole lost the starting job as did a couple of other upper classmen after the Sac. St. loss. Losing to DII Central Washington and then Sac at home required a shake up. Cole simply wasn't hitting the holes effectively. He has remained the blocking back during some passing situations, and plays special teams.

Our running back position has been by committee since the MSU game, but last week, true freshmen Jesse Hoffman had 127 yards on 16 carries. Perhaps he'll get the start against the vikes.

Welcome Kalm, nice to see the Eags recovered after that debacle at the begining of this year

Thanks for the info... Cole sure hit the holes last year when we played up there. ;-)
 
Part of the problem was our passing game didn't exist prior to the last few games, so it was pretty easy to expect the run. Last year with Meyers we had a much more balanced attack

Portland State might lead the nation, but Eastern is 3rd

Portland state is 105th in total offense.

that I can not argue with. Either way, I'll be down at PGE park supporting my eagles. Believe it or not, i actually took my last college class down at PSU and transfered it back to Eastern, so I like to see PSU do well, just not against my Eagles.
