Eastern Washington Prediction?

We don't match up well with them because they throw the ball all over the place. They're really hurting with injuries, especially on the offensive line. I would like to see some more blitz packages from Shay, but he's the worst coordinator in the history of the program, so I doubt we will exploit them. They have the best QB in the conference and some good receivers. Again, we lose big. 50 something to 10.

I feel for the Bears and their fans being 0-6 but I don't think you will see the Eagles overlook them since we are only 2-4. Here is to a good game for both teams and hopefully no more injuries for the Eagles. Go Eags!!!

UNC has played EWU close the past 2 seasons, losing in 09 14-0 and in 2010 35-28. The strenght of EWU is it's passing game and UNC pass defense is it's weakness. This is EWU homecoming, this game could get ugly quickly.

It could get ugly, but they might not take us seriously and we could make it a good game. I am still waiting for the team to show us something other than the poor executions of the past few games. It's amazing how bad we have been playing, but we must stay positive and I predict 21 - 17 Bears.

I have a funny suspicion we will see our first victory of the season on Saturday. Defense will overpower inexperienced O-line from EW and come away with 4 picks. Baca and Orms will step in for Lobato in the second half to mount huge comeback. A crying Lobato will be comforted on sideline by Coach Boyer, who will continue to call him The Prodigy.

UNC 38
EW 35

You heard it here first! :thumb:

I want some too! I really like the crying Lobato on the sideline!

I'm gonna go with UNC 41 EWU 0! ah ya! UNC scores a safety on the last play of the game just to rub it in a little.

Coach Collins suits up in locker room at halftime to return kicks and punts.... fumbles twice and is subsequently benched for not "buying in"!

I expect UNC to come in hungry for a win, and every game is a playoff game for EWU at this point. :D I think EWU overlooked a couple games early in the season and it really bit us in the ass.

IMO this game will hinge on how well our patchwork O-Line performs. I think UNC will try to blitz, so hopefully our young replacement lineman will be up to the task. We do throw the ball a lot, but have been trying to be more balanced the past few games. Our young true Freshman RB Talley had a couple of 100+ yard games, so I think he and other backs will get their looks.

We obviously have a ton of injuries on both sides of the ball, but one bright spot the past couple of games has been the play of the defensive line, which has started to make plays. Lots of speed at the end positions. Jerry Ceja had a couple of sacks versus NAU.

All that said, I expect this to be a close game. I'll say 24-17 with the advantage going to EWU being at home.

Don't worry. Your QB will pick us apart. We have a very young secondary, and a horrible D-Coordinator. You might not be able to run on us as easily, because we have decent LB's (one very good one, Bumpas). Our offense is very predictable, so we won't score much. Hell, my wife who sits in the stands at Nottingham (God bless her) knows exactly what play we will call. I'm serious, she does! She will literally call the next play and she knows nothing about football. EW fans have nothing to worry about.

You are so right Beardown. This team is so predictable its pathetic!! I know of 3 wives that we sit with that have it figured out. At this stage, why in the hell arent we running some trick plays going for it on fourth down, more blitzing. what the hell, we are at the bottom. We have nothing to lose. We have nowhere to go but up. I say its time to throw the dice, lets gamble!!!

Can't say I agree with everything Beardown said, but don't worry, you'll score at least 40 against us. Probably closer to 50 or 60, we'll score a few TDs to make it look like we tried, something like 52-24 for the final.

It could be closer than that. Don't forget that we have lost 6 starters for the season, most noticeably 3 Offensive Linemen and a star linebacker (Zach Johnson) and receiver (Brandon Kaufman). Right now we are without our starting center (a converted TE has been playing), a starting corner, and a few other dudes. Despite that, we found a way to beat WSU and NAU, but they were by no means convincing wins. Keys for an EWU win are creating some TO's and exploiting UNC's young secondary for some big plays. Unfortunately, every game is a must win for us at this point. :ohno:

This from someone who claims the coach throws people under the bus. Tell me: what has Lobato done to deserve that comment? He has represented this team solidly off the field, is a good kid and, while you may not like that he's the #1, he has given 100%. Has he been perfect? No. But does he deserve THAT insult?

When a Weber fan came on here calling for injuries, etc., board members took a stand. But taking a cheap shot at one of our own? Board members applaud it?

Yeah, there's two people Bearcrawls hates and that's Collins and Lobato. I admit I was very harsh with Lobato was named starter, but he's not the problem with this team. He's been pretty solid.

Bearcrawls sounds like a frustrated parent because their kid get isn't getting to play.

It's called sarcasm, just like my other posts in this thread, so relax Troy. You really don't think I actually am predicting a victory today do you? Or that Collins will secretly suit up? This thread was dead all week and I was just trying to stir the pot.

Now, as for Lobato, like I have said in other post, I don't care if the kid starts every game but I expect that every player is treated equally. If a player is not performing, they need to come out. And that includes the quarterback. So start Lobato but if he's not performing then pull him.....3rd quarter, 4th quarter....I don't care. But let's at least TRY to win a football game. But it is sooooo obvious Collins is playing the younger players to build for next year and sacrificing the entire season. Guess what, the future brings no guarantees. This is just frustrating that all the spring and summer excitement about the football team has ended so early in the season.

And no I'm not a frustrated parent, I'm a frustrated fan.

He's not the ONLY problem with this team I agree but yes he's a contributor. The defense is the biggest problem, followed by the O-Line but every team lives and dies by their quarterback. Has Lobato made some big time throws.....absolutely! But to say he's been solid is a stretch. Go to ESPN.com, look up the Play-by-Play of each game and tell me how many times he has been able to sustain a TD drive over say 50-60 yards? My guess would be 2? I'll await your response on his "solid" performance.
