Nice write up/ predictions on Sac State. Also picked 2nd in the coaches poll, what’s going on here, finally getting some due respect here!

Alright, happy Big Sky media days everyone! It's finally starting to feel like Football season, and fall camp is right around the corner! We're down to our final 3 conference previews, and today we got the back to back conference champs in Sac State who have been mighty successful in Troy Taylor's first 2 seasons at the helm. This year looks to be no different for the Hornets as they will be strongly in the mix to win the conference title once again. They return both QB's (Jake Dunniway and Asher O'Hara) from a very prolific offense that has the potential to be even better this season. Sac State hasn't had one of the strongest defenses in the conference, and if they can figure that out this season and take a step forward, they got the potential to be natty contenders IMO. With that, let's dive in!

September 3 vs. Utah Tech - W. Formerly Dixie State, this will complete a home and home with the 2 teams. Utah Tech is still trying to find their footing in D1, and I don't see Sac State dropping this game at home, especially since they beat them down in Dixie last year. Hornets roll.

September 10 BYE. This could really come back to bite them in the ass.

September 17 @ Northern Iowa - W. You know what? Give me the win in this one. I was gonna predict a Sac State loss in this one, since they lost to UNI at home last season, but UNI has a bunch of question marks and I think Sac State goes on the road and wins this game. Close game though IMO.

September 24 @ Colorado State - L. I really want to pick Sac to win this game, cause CSU has been such dog shit, but I do think the Rams will be much improved under new head coach Jay Norvell coming over from Nevada. Norvell has brought in a ton of transfers, and has landed some top tier transfers that could definitely make them relevant again as soon as this season. Give me the Rams in a close one.

October 1 @ Cal Poly - W. 3 consecutive road games isn't exactly appealing, but Sac should be just fine in this one.

October 8 vs. Northern Colorado - W. Should be no problem for Sac in this one.

October 15 @ Eastern Washington - W. I think this could be a tricky game for SAC. They have not been to Eastern since Troy Taylor took over. That said, Eastern has shown me nothing so far this offseason that makes me believe they can win these types of games this season. Sac wins by 10+.

October 22 vs. Montana - W. I really hate to do this. When I did the Griz at the start of our previews, I picked Sac to win this game, and unfortunately I'm gonna have to stick with this game until we can prove to ourselves we can beat these guys. I think we are more than capable of winning this game, but until I see both of these teams on the field I gotta go with Sac. Man I hope I'm wrong though, I'm planning on going to this game with my GF who just move to MT from Sacramento

October 29 vs. Idaho - W. The Vandy's aren't ready to go toe to toe with Sac.

November 5 @ Weber State - L. If there were a conference road game that they could drop, I think it may be this one. Sac State could very realistically go undefeated in conference play, and I wouldn't be shocked if they did, but Weber is the only team so far in the conference that has beaten Troy Taylor. That said, I think they take a close road loss in this one.

November 12 @ Portland State - W. I kind of mentioned last week with PSU that I thought this could be a potential spoiler game, but Sac State IMO is just too good to lose this game. Hornets should roll.

November 19 vs. UC Davis - W. The Causeway Classic has the potential to be really good this year. Could Sac be hoisting a third consecutive Big Sky trophy on the 19th? This has the potential to be a massively important game in the seeding picture for the playoffs. Sac wins a close one at home.

--------------------------------------------------

I have Sac State going 9-2, and I do think they can be anywhere between 11-0 and 7-4, but I don't see them going 7-4 and that would be massively disappointing if they did. I really don't think 11-0 is that far out of reach for them. They've got the potential to be very dangerous this year. Watch out for the Hornets to 3-peat. Thoughts????
