Eligibility Question

So "a guy I know" had a meeting with Moosh back in 2003 about walking on and he never did it (at the time, killing himself and risking his grades to be on the scout offense wasn't appealing).

This guy graduated in 4 years, and is now getting his MBA, possibly another degree as well... Officially, his "clock" hasn't started ticking, correct? He still has 4 years of eligibility left, right?

Good news Kadeezy....they kept your spot open on the Scout Team. :D

But I was under the impression from one of your earlier posts you played basketball for the Hornets. If so, doesn't that burn up your eligibility?

No, once you start school, your 5 year clock begins from that date. So if one started in 2003, the ln your eligibility is now over.

What about the guys in the military? If the person didn't play collegiate ball, you should have 4 yrs. Ken Stinnet who played DL for Mattos was in his upper 20's, they called him Pops. If the person is a player, Id check officially, what can they say, no?

The clock is SUPPOSED to stop while one is in the military. Whether or not it actually does probably depends on whether or not one goes to a power school. South Carolina had a 39-year-old WR fresh out of the Army while Lou Holtz was there. There's some JC now (clearly different eligibility rules, though) with a 50-some-odd year-old LBer.

There was a movie about a 50-year-old QB at UOP, but, of course, that was just a fictional movie. (Incidentally, many movies have been filmed at UOP [Animal House and Indiana Jones immediately come to mind], but this was the only one that actually called it UOP.)

SH, sorry to burst your bubble, but Animal House was not filmed at UOP, but at the University of Oregon. However, part of Indiana Jones was filmed at UOP.

http://www.acmewebpages.com/animal/locales.htm provides this information.

Because of the tight budget Universal Pictures allotted for Animal House (about $2.7 million), John Landis had to find a college campus for the filming. After 12 colleges in six states said "no" to filming the movie on their campuses, the University of Oregon (map, web site) President William P. Boyd agreed to let Landis use the Eugene campus without even reading the script first. Earlier in his career, as a dean at another school, Boyd turned down filming of The Graduate, saying it was vulgar and outrageous.

The location shooting had to be done in thirty days, which meant a six-day work week, if they wanted to stay within budget. Unlike most films, where only the exteriors are filmed on location and the interior scenes are done on a soundstage, the entire Animal House was filmed in Oregon, utilizing several campus interiors, along with a few interior sets filmed at the Armory.

The scene where Belushi went cr@zy in the frat house was the center house in what used to be frat circle (before a frat got kicked off campus) at UOP. The frat that was in the house while I was at UOP used it as recruiting material.

Not sure what you mean by "What about the guys in the militay?" If you haven't started school your clock has not started and you still have 5 to play 4. However DII and DIII have no clock. You can start , stop and start again as long as you still have years of eligibility left.

give me a break. i like the feigned ignorance of your question, Kadeezy - you know the answer. shoulda, coulda, woulda. is this your way of getting people to beg you to play? go for it, show us what you've got, and rescue the team. the only difference between now and 6 years ago is that you'll be killing yourself and risking a house to be on the scout team as a tackling dummy. you know, i once met with Bruce Jenner back in 1976 after Montreal. I think I may go and try out for the Olympic Decathlon.

you'd have to be born by then. i bet you threw it over the mountains too, and you would have won the state championship if coach just woulda put ya in the game. i see a little of Uncle Rico in you, but more Kip.
