ESPN TEAM CAPSULES

I can't remember a time when the Big Sky was this loaded. It seems as if every team is going to be able to compete. ESPN really didn't have much to say about Weber. It seemed as if they were saying that everyone was progressing while Weber has regressed. Personally, I kinda like the Media picking Weber low. I think the team will excel as the Darkhorse.

The wizard of Ogden doesn't give a rats a$$ where the Cats are picked. He just knows that we will not finish in the 5th or 6th spot. He said that McCoy is playing like it is his time to shine. He is pleased with the progress of Panos and Morris. He said that Morris is stronger, more aggressive and has made the transition from Freshman to Sophomore just like coach thought he would. Lillard is going to look like he is lost for a while, but come conference time, he should be really good. Bullinger is going to be a big help for us this year, the coaches knew he was good, but he keeps getting better. Projected starters as of 7 to 10 days ago:
McCoy
Davis
Panos
Morris
Lillard or Hansen or Carson

So, ESPN has no clue, and coach likes it when they predict us down in the middle of the pack.

I heard that he was thinking about red shirting, but that the coaches may have him play. The decision, of course, rests with him, but I think the Wizard would like him to play.

Bullinger, in my opinion, has been over looked. He is going to be huge off the bench for the Cats. What have you all heard about Marco Ramos? What type of Player is he? How about Carson or Benson? I talked to one of assistants about Benson, and he said that TJ has improved his game drastically over the summer, and should play a role on this years team (of course "Play a Role" could mean a million things) I've got some information on Matt Washington, he is a Sophmore (6-7, 205lbs) from West Hills Community College in California. I think he was brought in for his rebounding and shot blocking abilities. According to some players, the guy has mad hops, and is extremely athletic, but really rough. The Wizard will help him develop. Oh BTW, Hansen is legit. He's MONEY!! He can shoot like Jimmy and Johnny! And he's got some great defensive skills.
There are three guys from Wasatch High on the team: Mahoney, Cottle, and a Freshman.

Washington is a walk - on. he is very rough, will sit out this year and will be playing on the scout team. The guy is really athletic, but has a long way to go.

Let's not forget that the last time Weber got zero respect in the preseason hype, the Wildcats surprised everyone, won the Big Sky, and then got blown away by UCLA in the NCAA tourney. Still, just getting that far was a victory for the team that no one loved, and I got to see a former high school teammate of mine playing against the Bruins on national TV. So, if history is any precedent, Weber will clinch the Big Sky this year. Get your travel agents on speed-dial, fellas, cuz you'll want to book those March flights as early as possible.

I love it when the media and coaches under-rate the Cats... Just gives Weber that much more incentive to prove the doubters wrong. Honestly, why is PSU getting so much hype? They have three transfors but are those transfers really that good? One was the WAC freshmen of the year at Hawaii, another played for the Pilots of Portland, and the third sat the bench at Washington. Only the Hawaii transfor seems to have any talent. The kid from Portland played two games against the Cats, only to lose both of them and really he didn't make much of an impact. I really don't think any of these "additions" will make much of a difference for the PSU Vikes...
