EWU is beat up and backed into a corner with four losses already. That probably makes them more dangerous.
NAU's 2-7 vs. EWU in the last 9 head to head. Ouch. EWU is better than their record shows this season. Incessant injuries and frustrating start to their season aside, this will be a battle. Few of these recent matchups can be described as defensive struggles. Last game in Flagstaff was the 2009 finale in which NAU had 38 first downs, 747 total yards, 45 points but 4 turnovers to somehow pull out a loss. But I doubt it's a track meet like that this Saturday. Defensive struggle and whoever wins the turnover and penalty battle comes out on top. If NAU's running/possession control game is on and the passing game at least keeps EWU honest then NAU pulls this one off. If EWU forces NAU to pass first, I see EWU with the W.
Sadly, missing out on this one.
