EWU Game

This should be an interesting game this weekend. An EWU team still searching for the lost identity and a young up and coming UNC team that is playing everyone tough. I am sure that the Bears are thinking that they are catching EWU at the right time and that may be the case but I think that this team is still capable of putting it all together this year. Look forward to the competition on Saturday and may the best team win. Go Eagles!!!

I think if this game was 3 or 4 weeks ago I would agree but the last couple weeks we have totally mailed it in so I'm thinking this team has given up on the season. It's a shame for the seniors but maybe they are part of the problem (accept Sarramento he deserved better).

My prediction would be something like EWU wins by a couple touchdowns and our offense is again anemic 21-7 and we might get a T.D. in garbage time but it won't matter.

I'm feeling very cynical this week after being encouraged for the first few games we've seemed to regress into the 2007 version of this team which is pretty disapointing.

PLEASE UNC prove me wrong! Make me look like a fool.

I think these last few weeks is going to be the true test of whether UNC has improved or not, as they face the bottom feeders of the league. Again I think this is a game UNC should win, but who knows anymore, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yeah it's funny I've hit the wall, I don't even care enough now to go on a rant.... I knew they'd lose, I knew they'd play soft, uninspired, and have a bunch of mistakes so what's the point.

That's the major problem now, apathy, we've all accepted losing and until we get some new leadership it's not going to change.

If they are bottom feeders and we are below them what does that make us?

A bottom feeder as well, I'm just saying with all this talk about improvement this will be the true test.

I think this team hit a crossroads a few weeks ago and didn't respond. It's obvious now the team has gotten worse as the season has gone on and I think that has to fall on the coaching. There isn't any built in excuse, we haven't had significant injuries, nobody has gotten stabbed, etc. we've just come out flat, unispired, and haven't executed a game plan in three weeks now.

You'd think after 30 games a decent coach would be able to really show some growth here but rather the program appears to be worse than it was before he arrived and even now they are fully funded yet have not reflected that on the field.

All and all it's been another disapointing season at Nottingham Field, it's amazing really as many people come out as have. It's unfortunate though that there is now so much apathy that a mutiny couldn't be staged to force this imcompetent leadership out.

OK, so I couldn't resist a rate...

I know, you'd think after having hardly any success with this type of offense Downing would've changed something up. But, no it gets worse, he's added in running QB draws for no yards.

I watched the game in the internet for a bit and I was surprised that people still went to the games.

I'd say about 80% of the snaps out of the shotgun were at Waggoners feet so you'd think at some point they would adjust and take the snap under center... you'd think... but there are plenty of high schools that can run the shotgun no problem but for us it's impossible.

QB draws for no yards? Are you kidding? That play worked perfect against Montana until Waggener got hurt. THe play works pretty well against zone defense, but not man coverage. I liked when they started calling it. It's not the QB draws that hurts the offense, it's the stupid penaltys. I blame that mostly on the players for not being focused on the game.

I was talking about the snaps always being at the QB's feet. So he has to reach down pick the ball up and then try to get his vison down field, it completly defeats the purpose of a shotgun snap when you can't deliver the ball on the QB's hands.

I was really impressed with your QB. I think that an offense like the spread would be best suited for him. Also that #10 is a good receiver and he and the Waggener are an excellent combination. I also think that if your going to establish the run then I think that Woods should be the man and you should stick with him. Defensively, I think that #4 at CB is solid and Sarmento is legit but the defense didn't have or show much emotion. I would like to see you guys suceed in the Big Sky but I think some changes need to occur....maybe not with the head man but the coordinators. Best of luck with Sac next week. I hope that you guys can pull together and beat them. Go Eagles!!!

Ya against Montana, not so much EWU, maybe but a few times. Running it that many times too, that's not even Waggener's strength.

He had 64 yards rushing against EW? Do you know what you're talking about?

64 yards WOW did they win the game? Did make a big impact? You can't win games like that. Maybe next game he'll run for 65 yards and still lose. Is running QB draws Waggeners strength? Doesn't make sense letting your QB run the ball that many times, especially when you don't have a scramble type QB. He had more attempts then the starting running back, their running game was bad to begin with, now your gonna let the QB do all the work. Besides my concerned wasn't about the yards in the last few games, I was just saying that Downing is going to keep calling QB draw and teams are going to cue in on it and they'll be for no yards. I don't know why you would be running QB draws when you're down, throw the ball down field thats Waggener's strength.

Yeah I have to say I agree running Waggonear is not a genius move, he's already got one concussion. And he might have some of the skills of a Tim Tebow but he doesn't have the supporting cast around him to keep him healthy running that much. If we had a stud RB it would be a mute point but that's a discussion for another day.

No, they didn't win the game but I wouldn't say it's because they're running Waggener. I don't care much for the idea, but 64 yards running aint that bad.
