EWU/Griz Predictions

Griz - 24

Eastern's O is too much for the Griz. Griz secondary is suspect and NAU gashed their running D. The Griz defense sets up really well for our offense to take advantage of them. I expect us to put up points early on offense and stack the box on defense forcing Mckinney to throw the ball.

I don't think the Griz D will be able to stop our O and Mckinney will have to play an A+ game to keep the Griz in it. Not going to happen...

I expect our defense will score a TD in this one....

We haven't been on the positive side of big win (10+) against the Griz in a while, I think it happens Saturday night.

Go Eags!

I worry that the McKinney-led offense is exactly the kind that absolutely worked over EWU last year. Is Montana's offense that great? No. But those lateral-moving, rush-based offenses have killed EWU for the last year and Weber had a lot of success with it.

Also, we still haven't seen if EWU's offense is "for real" yet. On paper, everything looks good. But it has yet to translate into one big scoring burst.

I think Eastern will win, I expect it, but the Griz are live dogs.

Well put, EWU's offense has huge question marks, now the defense has questions with LB core... But the game is at home for EWU so.... EWU by 7

I think this game may be more of a defensive struggle. Agreed our offense has not exactly been rolling other than some big offensive plays in each game we have played. I do not doubt for a second that we have the talent, especially at the skill positions, it has not been shown yet. I was not overly impressed with our defense either in the Weber game. If their receivers, especially #5 would have made catches we could easily have lost that game.
24-17 Eagles and that may generous for both teams.

You guys are too complimenting. EWU by double digits with or without Zach Johnson. Ena will be playing and he is too quick for that "lateral short passing game" of UM. Alpha, before you start trolling and commenting - you suck. I just want you to know that you really do.

I think we have a letdown game, and play like crap. Griz are feeling threatened, and are going to give us their best shot. Sorry, just my honest opinion.

EWU - 27

UM - 20.

I think it's going to be a good game, like every year. Both teams should be in it the entire game. Could be fairly high scoring due to Montana's unusually weak defense and our lack of LBs.

EWU 34
UM 31

My pick literally came down to us having the home field advantage. If we weren't at home, I'm not sure if I would have picked EWU to win.

Anyone know the quality of Montana's kicker? Field goals could be an important weapon in this game.

Falkin: expect the stands to be packed. I haven't found a student yet who won't be attending the game. :thumb:

SE174,
We never have a let down when it comes to playing the Griz. Both teams will come out fighting like hell. I think we will see an "Outstanding Football Game". I hope we does not have any kind of problems this Saturday. Heard that 500 seats have been removed because of Safety Problems. :o Hate to mention this, if it is correct, what are we going to do with the personnel that have paid for their tickets?. Here is hoping it is not correct, that 500 seats taken away from the game. :o "PLEASE" tell us it is not true. Got this information from the personnel installing the Bleachers.

WE left Roos Field about 6:15pm, personnel were still installing piping for wiring in the rear of the Scoreboard. Believe me, the Scoreboard looks "Outstanding". Everything should be ready by Friday.

Activity for Friday on Roos Field is a function conducted by "Eagle Athletic Association" (EAA), $25.00 fee, time fm 7pm to 9 pm. Hope I am correct, followed by Volleyball, however the VB Game will be in progess, starts at 7pm. Have fun if you attend. Be Cool. Vic Wallace

Montana is yesterday's news!
I think the pressure padron is getting from Adams is going increase pardons productivity. Overall great for the team in getting experience for Adams and having that card in our pocket.it will be too much for opponents to prepare for. Great move by coach Baldwin

Eag;
Agreed it was a good move by Baldwin to give Adams a shot at starting job. Apparently he earned it and showed his potential. We will enjoy watching him play for 4 more years and it will be a blast.
I do not agree that the Griz are old news. If we have success in the first half and don't SLAM the door in the second half they have the potential to do a NAU style comeback in the second half. My concern would be old "mo" If they get mo going in the second half, all bets are off, anything can happen.
I still expect a close rather low scoring battle.
Go Eagles!!

Griz are giving up 349 yards and 28.5 points/game but have also been able to pressure opposing QB's. This shows the turnover problems. They have the potential to be much better on D than they've been so far. But I also really like our run D and that bodes well in a strength vs. strength matchup.

Although I know we have the better team, the offense is making me nervous. Our running game is better then last year, but the quarterback position needs improvement. We have a ridiculously talented wide receiving crew that will run wild on any defense in the country if we can just get them the ball.

I am confident that we will win, but I'm nervous about the qb situation. I would not be surprised if we won 38-21, and I wouldn't be shocked if we lost a close game 21-17 either. I really think it all hinges on how our qb(s) play.

I'm going with the opposite of last week. We trade barbs early but make great adjustments at half. Get a takeaway or two early in the second half to pull away comfortably.

37-24 EAGS.

I'll sure up some ?s I saw. Or kicker is a true freshman. great great leg. But could be suspect. Our d is solid when we don't make them stand out on the field 20+ minutes a half. Ie, last week! I think the griz will battle. Bottom line is turn overs. If we give it up....we will lose by 10+. However if the griz keep control and the d gets some rest...I would homer pick and say griz by 7. honestly ewu is great. Is their off. Going to get through the griz d? If they get the deep game going out would be lights out vs the griz. BUT!!!! Remember if they try that game early, and get some 3&outs....The griz could put up points quick. They have been putting up points! Double edge sword. Final prediction... Griz 28 ewu 24

Griz are definitely facing an uphill battle... EWU is 1st in the BSC in points allowed (17), and 2nd against the run, allowing just over 100 yards a game. UM however is ranked 100th in all of FCS against the pass. We won't stop the Griz, but we will slow them down. Question is, can the Griz secondary slow us down? Pressure with the front 7 will be key for UM.

There will be a penalty on the last play of the game. One extra play with no time on the clock and Eagles recover a Griz fumble and win by an extra 6 points. EWU 2 straight over the Griz on the RED TURF.
At my age I can only stand so much fun, see yall in Texas.
