EWU Tailgating for 2011 Update

Eagle Nation,

I wanted to update you on the 2011 situation on the upper parking lot for home football games.

I recall criticism from last season of those who "weren't told that the lot was filling up" and would have bought passes for the season if "they were only told that the lot might be full prior to game day."

Please consider this your warning if you are sitting on the fence regarding a 2011 RV/tailgate season pass.

For the 2011 season, we are getting close to a sell-out for the lot in RV/tailgate with 57 season passes (the lot holds 80-83).

I also have list of 100 single game tailgate buyers from 2010 still to contact before Sept. 24 to sell on season passes who may purchase the remaining passes.

The RV/Tailgate season pass is $100 for the four home games (it's $35 per game if you roll up and want one day of game). That's a $40 savings if you buy the season pass.

RV/Tailgate season pass holders:
- Get to stay overnight friday and saturday night
- Get to participate in the EAA tailgate cook-off contest (more details to follow)
- Secure the same spot every game
- Get a 2 x 2 parking area for one vehicle (you can set up a tent, grill, etc).
- Are allowed to use propane grills or heaters (no charcoal)

Please get in touch with me before they are all sold out if you are interested. Otherwise, if you roll up day of game, you may find your tailgating down in one of the lower lots instead of where the action is.

My office phone is 509-359-6059 (email is [email protected])

Troy,

Can you currently buy individual game RV passes or just season right now?

Thanks!

Only season passes until Sept 7. Sold 3 today, so it is getting closer to being a sold-out parking lot upper in the back for all of 2011.

Thanks...Also wanted to clarify, goeags.com shows MSU game tix go on sale 9/7, but ticketswest shows 9/1. Which date is correct?

Thanks!

Yep, we are up to 70 tailgate spots sold for the upper lot. Apparently 80 is what parking is comfortable with before they shut it off completely to vehicles, meaning tailgating and single car parking with be pushed to the lower lots. If you are thinking about getting a spot, contact me at 509-359-6059 to secure a season pass. At $100 for 4 games, it is worth it.

Troy,

This is great to hear, glad there is so much support! So the plan is to use the entire upper lot for rv tailgates? I know last year they left the first 2 or 3 rows for single cars.

Thanks for putting in all the work, the season can't come soon enough!

Entire upper parking lot is sold out for the 2011 season. We've started to sell tailgate passes for the lower lots (front gate, horse shoe). It's a great day to be an Eagle!

That's great news Troy-- even though I didn't get passes... Great signal of the kind of attendance the defending champs will see this season.

PS. My mom gave you an umbrella on the way in to Memorial Stadium at the Cal game in '09. Any chance it's laying around the ticket office?

This x 6600. I can't wait to get over there for the MSU game, even if I'll have to relocate! Let's hope this is the start of a trend. Come on, Spokane alums, there's still plenty of room on the bandwagon! :thumb:

I gave the umbrellas that day to equipment. If they kept them, I would be surprised.

It was within the last decade or so that you could pull up 45 minutes before kickoff and park almost directly across from the ticket booth.

Troy, is the new ticket facility in the upper parking lot completed? If so, any pics?

the brand new ticket booths are up in the lot. I'm not as technical with the photos as the rest of you, so if anyone would like to put some up, be my guest...

Yes on the donation, but no thanks on the parking. I like my tailgating spot much better. 8-)
