Pretty good job on the whole. Great job by the offense, passable by the defense. Still need a lot of defensive improvement... DL play seemed especially soft.

It's amazing how good our offense can be when the receivers actually make the catches.

The worst performance of the game? Eastern's AV people. That PlutoTV feed was terrible. Just leave the damn SWX telecast running. There's no reason to put your own ads in the middle of timeouts... And if you do it, don't fuck up by not rejoining the telecast when it resumes. Also, "Enter Sandman" is not a reasonable substitute for the actual game audio. Can someone drug test whoever was in charge of that?

Interior line play was soft. No offense to the guys starting now because they're working hard but they're not playing at the same level as our original starters. Keith Moore has the size to be a really good player but he's still pretty raw in his technique. With both Tiuli and Lino out, we need to figure some things out on the DL. I wonder if they are considering pulling Matheney's redshirt.

One or both of these guys are expected back next week right? I thought they said Lino almost came back out on the field.

Lino might be back, but Tiuli is done for the year.

Ouch, missed that one.

The game day experience was awesome today. They had stuff for the students, the corporate corners were packed, food trucks and the whole parking lot was packed with the most tailgaters I have ever seen. Official attendance was probably low, but there were mobs of people and Cheney felt like a party.

Perception is reality. In P12 there were a LOT of empty tailgate spots. In section D quite a few empty seats. I know they announced over 10k sold but there was certainly not that many in attendance.
The mood was good, I'll give you that.

Official attendance was 10,917, which may have been sold tickets+ students, but a lot of folks stayed at the tailgate as far as I could tell.

We went out to eat afterwards and the restaurants were packed with people in their ewu gear...it was great.

363 yards of passing but only 6 yards of rushing. yuck.
That part of the reason we were only 6-16 on 3rd downs. 161 yds on 35 carries is deceptive because of a few long runs. We either broke loose or got stuffed, not much in between. I like our running backs, they really run hard and fast but there was nothing between the tackles.

We had at least a couple of 8-9 yard running plays up the gut. The 2nd half was much better than the first.

A common theme the past couple years is people not watching from their seats. You now have 4 club areas in which people are watching from and a least a couple hundred people who stand at the top and watch from there. There were definitely more people there yesterday, than at the NDSU game. Also, yesterday was a great student turnout. Overall, great game day.

Also, for anyone reading this, yesterday was the 7th largest crowd in Roos Field history and we played Sac St. Not a Montana school for all those still saying we need a Montana school in town to fill the place.

Didn't get a chance to come to Cheney. Watching the terrible feed on PlutoTV, the stadium looked pretty well packed to the rafters.

Having a beer garden is a mixed blessing. It brings in a lot of revenue, but people tend to congregate there when the game starts. I believe they shut it down at kickoff, but if I recall correctly, you can't bring beer to your seats (someone can correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not much of a drinker).

In the EAF club, they serve alcohol all the way up to thto 4th quarter...therefore anyone who goes there, doesn't ever make it to their seats. Especially since you can see the game for the most part from the club. It's also a wind/weather block, which is another attraction.

Never before have I seen a running back (#28 Gable) who is listed as 5'4 140lbs (and we all know they kinda fudge on height/weight) run for 6.4 yds ave. for 92 yards on 14 carries against us. Had another RB listed at 5'5 170lbs(their short yardage guy). And never before have I seen a place kicker who is listed at 5'6 190lbs(much shorter and weighed more) kick. A WR's is listed at 5'5 150lbs and watching all these players was worth the price of admission alone.
