EWU vs. UND GDT

Shoemaker shoots and scores for UND... 3 and out... no check down... all or nothing pass play... sack on 3rd down...

Play calling has been suspect but EB3 had two other options on that 4th down pass.
I think Barriere needs to be on notice. Eastern is getting nothing out of the QB position at the moment. That was his worst game since Weber State last year, and it feels like he's regressed a bunch this season.

The RPO and zone read don't work when there is no threat of the QB actually taking the ball himself. UND just started keying the RBs all second half knowing the QB was never going to keep it. Once UND started gumming up the middle, we were able to go to Silas- and he did great with his reps.

But there are going to be games where we need the QB to get us down the field on critical drives. We need the Eric Barriere that took off for 50 yards on the last drive of the UC Davis game and then worked over Maine to get back on the field. The imposteur wearing his uniform is not a legitimate substitute.

EB3 seems under orders form Sargent IAN SHOEMAKER to wear this type of accesory to help execute his game plan type . EB3 having trouble executing or the plan has a flaw. Gett these off EB3 so he play like he use too. If signed it would have many an eagle fan signature...

Does Coach Shoemaker order that the QB overthrow receivers? Players still have to do their jobs.

Clawman, Shoemaker (or whoever is callin the show) seems to me, by design, tried to form fitt EB3 into something he's not. He overthrew wr's last year but was able to, by design, make plays with his feet in free flowing form. That play calling second half, by design, looked like shit for grand total of 95 yards. I'm not sure EB3 was being held back, poor play calling or others were having a hard time doing their job. Really happy our Defense seemed to be doing their job.I don't have a job so speaking from past experience.

Mr Moore was a dominant force yesterday. Makes me wonder what was keeping him off the field in the first 4 games. (Yes I am aware he got shot).
Based on how he affected the game yesterday I would rather have a Keith Moore @ 75% than no Keith Moore at all.

Careful what you wish for, players at <100% are the players most likely to get further injured. I think it's unfair to apply that pressure on players, particularly not paid professionals.

All That said we got a W, but we sure look more like the 2015/2017 teams that missed the playoffs than the 2016/2018 semi final / finalists.

Fair point, but I have noticed that there is a general lack of creativity in the offense as compared to previous OC’s Reeder, Taylor, Baldwin, etc.

I will concede that at times EB3 did a poor job in the zone read, especially the RPO. Plenty of times he could have taken off for big yardage but elected to hand the ball off or make an ill-advised throw.

All that said, it was obvious that the game plan dictated we play smash mouth football yesterday. And we were able to do that without turning the ball over. When you force the other team to turn the ball over 6 times without committing any you’re going to win.

We’re now 51-0 in games where we’ve won the TO battle going back to the early 2000’s I believe.

My point was, it does not matter how creative the plays are, if the players don't do their job the results are the same.

Pretty sure it's not just me but our QB play looks way out of sync, over throws, under throws and non-existent RPO. Something is not right, don't think I've seen such poor play calling in the second half from an Eagle team like this before. Out of curiosity, do we even have another QB that can play ? Go Eags, its not gonna be pretty if this can't be cleaned up asap !

Agreed, except Saturday afternoon's weather in Cheney was probably not the best time to put more pressure on EB3 calling more OPRs when, as it turned out, we had two very capable rushers' sure handling and advancing the ball with wet cold fingers yielding some nice TDs. Better to save EB3 healthy for better playing conditions or emergencies. He did create a nifty play moving right looking for a hole, then spotting and dumping off to Boston for a gain down to the two. EB3 rushed for a touchdown, no fumbles or interception, gets him an A for the day. Better Eagle days ahead!
