EWU - Weber Prediction Thread

Maybe too early, but time to move on from the Cat game and time to focus on Weber.

Another tough opponent this week. Weber has surprised a lot of people and is playing well. They are 2-2, but there 2 losses are to FBS opponents and they spanked a good Sac. State team 2 weeks ago. They appear to be pretty balanced with several running backs taking the load and their qb has 11 td's and 0 int's on the year. Weber is a physical team and will try to pound it as much as they can. Our key on defense will be to stop the run, which we haven't done well all year.

This will be the first week where we haven't faced a really mobile QB.

I expect the eags to come out with a balanced attack. With our new found running game, we can use the run to setup a couple deep balls to our WR's. BLM and Kauf started to connect last week, I think they will continue to do so.

Weber will keep it close but eags prevail.

EWU - 28
Weber - 24

BTW - I know the cats looked good, but NDSU and SUU look Legit this year, they thumped 2 FBS teams.

I'm gonna go with what I said on championshipsubdivision.com

Weber State's offense is firing on all cylinders, outscoring thier first 2 BSC foes by a total of 94-38. Mike Hoke continues to make good decisions with the ball, and Weber's running backs, (all 5 of them) are racking up the yards, and unlike previous years Weber is # 1 in turnover margin at +5. Weber's defense is also progressivly getting better, EWU's o-line is suffering from the injury bug, and thier run defense is lacking, which speaks bad news for them, as Weber excells at running the football, Weber's balanced attack will be too much for the Eagles.

No score for me, but I feel Weber wins. Here's to a fun entertaining INJURY-LESS game.

Mike Hoke is mobile, he doesnt run much, cause he hasnt needed to, but he, unlike Higgins will run the football. And he's tough runner, he will lay a hit on anybody  . I can tell Weber is trying to keep him healthy though, when he was Higgin's backup he was mostly brought in to run, now he is more of a passing QB, but with the ability to run. I like dual threat QB's

We win this game. Why? Because I will be there at 7 am drinking, something which was sorely missing from the MSU affair. My bad. See you all in 24 hrs! We'll be at my buddy's trailer in lot 9. I haven't seen what it looks like so I can't describe it, but I'll be the big man with tattoos double-fisting Coors Light and cooking chicken. Eagle Football Saturday, T-minus 27 hours 30 minutes!!

If you being there means EWU wins, then I FORBID YOU TO SET ONE FOOT IN THAT STADIUM. YOU STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE :flag:

quote from Wildcat board:"We rack up 400 yards of offense with 250 on the ground. I know Coach Mac and I know that he is licking his chops looking at the film of E. Wash's rush defense. This week's practice will be fine tuning the running game for Sat".

Not so fast Weber fan, it is our offensive line, guards and center in particular, that are beat up. Our D-line is still strong. Granted we lost a Buchanan award candidate at linebacker but this team is hungry and has an attitude. A winning attitude!!
I don't think the difference will be your offense but specifically our QB. If BLM plays to his capabilities and hits open receivers, of which there will be several, we move up and down the field regularly. With Taiwan Jones we had one back that was outstanding, now we have 2 backs that are VERY good in the open field.
It will be a good game which the Eagles get their first of 7 wins!!
Go Eagles

While I disagree with what you say, sir, I will fight to the death for your right to say it.

:agree:

400 yards? No way. I think Weber will move the ball, but we will be stingy when it counts. Clawman, I think you're right on. I've been impressed with our young runners! Let's keep it simple, get back to basics, and play Eagle football!

Agree with what everyone said, I don't think Weber goes for 400+ on us.

I anticipate Eastern to stack the box on D and make Weber beat us by throwing the ball. I also think our D-Line will play their best game of the season.

Last year the win at Weber really jump started our playoff push...hoping that this year will be the same result.

Is it saturday yet?

The real question is "can Eastern score?" We're averaging less than 20 against FCS competition so far this year. I really thought our offense would be better. Our defense has the same bend-don't-break mentality, but our offense hasn't gotten over the hump... and certainly has played their worst football whenever a game gets close.

Completely agree. At the beginning of the season I expected we would really rack up the points but our passing game has been pretty dismal for multiple reasons.
The big question is can they turn it around???

i cant believe all the injuries you guys are having. i hate seeing any teams have injuries.

finally the ball bounced our way. those refs were questionable at times (both ways) i was pretty bummed about the celbration penalty though.
