EWU

Any of you Bear fans coming up for the game this weekend? I agree that this indeed should be a good close game but I think that the Eags will pull it out in the 4th quarter. I am excited to see this running back that has been tearing it up so far this season. Should be good weather this weekend with partly cloudy skys and mid 70's. Go Eags!!!

Dammit! Downing got me again! After that USD win I started thinking maybe the team had turned the corner but this is the same team as last year--a talented team that is way too sloppy. They move the ball well between the 20's and that is it. Oh well, I can start hoping for losses now so we can get rid of that shitbag.

Did we have any starters out on the offensive line? They were horrible.

Either that or EWU's defensive line is really good.

What a dissapointing game.

It was, the offense didn't look anything like last saturday, can't forget EWU is a good team but its hard to digest when we couldn't put any points on the board. Still this offense frustrates me, hardly ever take shots down the field, and Wags is running for his life most of the time. I still like our chances against Montana State, but the O has to get going.

This was really kind of a sloppy game for both teams but EWU was able to capitalize on some turnovers. UNC was very tough on defense. I was impressed by how well they played and made the Eags work for everything. Your offense seemed to be out of sync when EWU was able to stop the run. EWU defense is legit and will give all Big Sky teams fits this seasons so I don't think UNC's offense is as bad as it looked today. I think that your offense is built around the run and when that was taken away today your offense struggled to throw the ball but I think that the inability to throw was primarily due to you missing your big play receiver in Gunn and several offensive lineman. No doubt that you guys are going to win some Big Sky games this season so stay the course and support this team that plays hard. Go Eagles!!!

Eagle 1, very classy comments. We have lost players and play-makers due to injury. Our offensive line has suffered the most with injuries (3 broken legs in the first two games). I believe there were two offensive lineman making their first starts of the season today. Losing Gunn and Smith were big blows too but there's nothing you can do about injuries - they're part of the game. We need to be able to make a first down when it's fourth and one and we couldn't do that twice today in the red zone. Harris has to be able to pick up the first down in crucial situations. He did have 97 yds. rushing today but was well below his avg. per rush with only 3.6. Personally, I think he made the first down late in the game but by then the game was already decided. If we had scored after the fumble we recovered in the first quarter it would have set a totally different tone in the game.
Let's not forget that the Eags are ranked #21 in the country for a reason regardless of how they looked in their first two games. And I agree with you, UNC will win some games this season and quite possibly more than just some.

Tons of injuries point to either lousy conditioning or extremely bad luck, usually the former much more than the latter.

This is not a new issue here. :|
