A part of me believes that this is a good thing, teams will be expecting to face a sixth place team and hopefully look past this team. Everyone will be gunning for Weber for no other reason than they would make a statement by beating the expected number one team. I believe because of that, Weber is going to have a rough year. Although we lost some great talent to graduation and transfer, I think this years team has great chemistry and will surprise some teams. I am predicting they finish third or fourth. If things start clicking mid year, they may be able to make a run and possibly host the tourney. It will all come down in my opinion to how well these players can gel together and start trusting each other. I look forward to this year, I hope it will be a good year.

Who were the transfers we lost?

I believe his name was Brandon Keene.

No offense but that guy was not a DI player... super soft...

I don't have a real great ability to judge players abilities, I leave that to the coaches. My point was, I would imagine that anytime a team loses a player, good or bad, it effects the chemistry of the team. In Keenes case, I would assume if nothing else he was a player that could have been used for a few fouls in a bind. They no longer have that as an option. I am sure they will figure it out, hopefully it turns out to be a positive for the team.

And Riak Bol (Not sure if that how his name is spelled) is no longer on the team.

What? Why???

It's not my story to tell... But, he is no longer on the website roster so I am assuming whatever rumors that were floating around may have been true.

Wow. I knew about Brandon Keane leaving, and was excited to see they brought in another big man in Riak Bol, but now he is gone too. We are hurting big time for big players !! That's really disappointing news. I hope Jeremy Verhagen is up to the task !!

I hear he is horrible... :-D :thumb: :D :thumb:

That's just great ! Huskisson, McDavis & Lee will need to be crashing the boards ! Looks like a couple of freshman forwards backing up. Looks pretty slim.

We have Cam Michael and the transfer from Rice. Our position in the conference might be dependent on how they play.

I believe you will all be pleasantly surprised with this years team. Their chemistry and ability to compliment each other's strengths is coming together nicely. This is a team that can shoot from anywhere in the gym from most positions. They have a unique ability to create shots but do not seem overly selfish against finding the open man. I hope I am right in my assumptions and optimism in this years team. It should be fun to watch.

I dont understand Hill's strategy..... we lose guys who are suppose to contribute, but we don't recruit local players who could help us improve. You live by transfers and you die by transfers.
We get a commit one day and lose the player the next because we are going about this in a chaotic manner. I see CU, Denver and other teams building programs, I see UNC putting together teams for a season. The only team more chaotic is CSU!

Unlike on the football side of things, I do not believe this is a coaching issue. This is a fan and support issue. Players come to this team thinking they are going to get a DI experience. The packed stadium, the popularity walking through the campus, the support of the community. None of that happens here unless the team is undefeated and heading to the dance. Of course you have your die hard 60+ year olds that will be at every game regardless and you have the other athletes that are forced to go to sporting events, but other than that, these athletes would be playing in an empty arena. Players lose interest really fast if some of the cool aspects of being a DI athlete are not present. That is why athletes at this school aren't willing to come off of or ride the bench, for what? So they can get even less of the benefits? They can go DII and be a big fish in a small pond or go ride the bench at a bigger DI and have a better athletic experience.
This time, it's not the coaches, it's everything else. They have the talent, they have the coaching, they are just not supported and that gets old real fast. Name one DI team in the country that can't fill a 2500 seat stadium on a nightly basis. You would be lucky to get 1000+ in Greeley.

I go to a lot of games and I always wonder where the student support is !! The AD needs to address that.

Sac St. plays in a closet that only seats 1000 if you stack them like cord wood. I'm one of the sticks up near the top (7 rows from the court)
