I wanted to pass along some great news. I know that this board focuses on large $$$ renovations, but this "small" renovation was worth mentioning to show that the EWU athletic department has been doing some constructive things for this fall.
For the 2011 football season, the EWU ticket office will be utilizing a new ticket booth to replace the two "cotton candy, county fair" looking ticket booths which sit upstairs in Lot 12. Whoever thought that baby blue shells with red trim on the two old booths was a good idea needs to be smacked. The old booths were also rotting, had to have extension cords to run power, & could only utilize wireless internet cards (thus slower sales processing).
The new booth will have 6 windows (compared to four total in the two old booths) and have power + wired internet + lighting (what I concept, I know!). This means if we have a larger will call, I can run 3-4 will call booths instead of 2 and be safe with 4 windows of sales.
I feel comfortable telling you all of this because I got to do a walk-through of the ticket booth at the carpentry shop on Thursday. It will actually have an extra ticket service station inside the booth for will call (making it possible to re-print a missing or lost ticket at will call - so your ticket will never be lost and will prevent me running down to Reese Court to retrieve it. Sam Anderson can tell you stories of what I am referring to).
The addition of new windows will allow the lines to be shorter and hopefully separate some of the congestion at the gate between people standing in line waiting for tickets and those who already have tickets trying to get in.
