Not a big turn-out, but team looked pretty sharp. Scheduled full speed routs rather than game format scrimmage. The theory here was that there are only so many full-speed hits the human body can/should/will absorb and we are not deep enough to take chances this close to gametime. Sears says they will take a more "NFL" approach to hitting in each weeks practices. In the chalk talk he mentioned Jordan starting next week with us seeing a lot of the true freshman Chipoletti. My take away from the afternoon is that Chipoletti seems to be the real deal. Lots of poise and command. Coach Sears mentioned that Shaydon Kayhano was out for 4 or 5 weeks (back around conference time). WOW on punting - Tony Epperson will lead the nation. Sears said that Zach Smith (RB) and true Freshman had the best camp but don't tell him. Did not see Bo Bolen or Barrington Collins on field, but RB looks great. Coach mentioned Josh Booker starting with Bo Bolen in there lots. I think we will get a lot of imaginative and productive things from the OC. And whoever is recruiting in Florida deserves a raise - these guys can play. I was pleased to see how focused the players and coaches were - no distractions. Whether this is good or not we will see against SFA but I did not see much emotion - could these guys be young and quiet assassins? I think we will see a lot of youngsters get quality/starting time and that could lead to issues - or they may surprise a lot of people who are looking for the same old and look past us. We have talent at the skill positions. Only gametime will give us the answers as to where we are on the O-line and secondary. I think this team will be fun to watch. I'll be there.
