That is one large field.

Hmm.

Not sure how I feel about this. That's a huge field.
On one hand it makes it easier to become playoff eligible, but on the other hand it always minimizes the regular season a little but more and increases the risk of injuries for all teams.

PSUVikings, It does increase by 4 teams the number participating, with a decrease of 4 teams having first round byes. So eight more teams will play in the first round. The length of the postseason playoff doesn't change. In effect it does increase the additional risk of injuries to those additional eight teams. But I bet those teams will be more than happy to play an additional game in order to move on.

Nigel said earlier that one of the reasons he liked the Bowl format was that it allowed so many players and fans to participate in something meaningful at the end of the season. Regardless, the five postseason weeks of football doesn't change and I can only assume that the BSC will benefit.

Also. at least my thought is that selecting an additional 4 teams from the entire FCS field would make each and every regular season game even more important. Your thoughts?

I like this move. Now maybe we will have a shot at getting into the playoffs more than once every 15 years. We would have had several more playoff teams than just the one. I agree with scooter. The regular season will have more meaning since more teams will have a shot. Also, teams assured of making the playoffs will be playing for best seeds. Expanding the playoffs has not hurt NCAA basketball, MLB, NBA or the NFL.
