FCS Playoffs: Round One

That was an embarrassing performance by Cal Poly. A team with 63 scholarships should NOT get their asses kicked by a school that doesn't even offer scholarships.

Cal Poly completely embarrasses the Big Sky. They got the luckiest first round draw available, at home, and literally piss down their leg. It would have been better if Northern Colorado got into the playoffs. They would have played with more heart than that.

I can't understand how a team works so hard all season long, and then get to the playoffs and just don't even bother to show up.

I didn't see the game but damn, that stings!

Cal Poly possibly overly confident playing a non schollie team that they'd already beaten once this year. Quite frankly, they got their assed kicked today.

The state of California is in a drought, and it pours the weekend of a home playoff game on a grass field. Crazy, The conditions negated CP's speed but totally agree CP should've won this game. Very disappointing.

BTW, I attended the EWU/CP game and there were close to twice as many people on the home side as last night. I'm sure the weather kept people away. Odd CP fact, Men's soccer draws more students that football.

Their big rival is UCSB in Soccer. Our kid is a student at CP and most students have been to soccer games, very few to football. When I went to parent orientation I thought the student hosts were kidding when they told us that Men's soccer is a bigger deal than football. Great school academically, 5 beaches within 20 minutes of campus, 65-80 degrees every day. Just not a football school.

This must seem like a bad dream to Cal Poly. San Diego is a very pedestrian team. I'd say they are on par with a Montana State, and maybe not even that good. For whatever reason, the weather seemed to cause the Mustangs all kind of problems. They were slipping and sliding everywhere. Also, keep in mind San Diego turned the ball over 4 times. Just an awful outing for those guys.

So next week will feature San Diego vs North Dakota State. Will NDSU pull their starters before halftime or start of the second half?

You're kidding, right?

NDSU's 2nd string will start and be pulled in the 3rd for the 3rd string.

We might actually see the mercy rule come into effect.
