FCS Playoffs: Round Two

Yep, Richmond with the ball and driving with about 7 minutes left in the game. They're have a lot of success with the underneath pass.

I still think UND is the better team regardless of whatever happens in this game, plus the fact that if Richmond wins it'll be their third week in a row on the road (I think).

*Edit* I forgot they played NC & T at home, so it would only be their second week on the road. Point still stands.

I'm ok with Richmond...get the "Raid"!

I love that Sam Houston now has to go on the road to play JMU. :)

After watching both teams today, I think JMU will knock SHSU out of the playoffs. I also think they have a decent shot of beating NDSU in the semi's.

I'd LOVE to play Youngstown St. in the semifinals. We played Jim Tressel's YSU team in the 1997 semifinals and got absolutely screwed out of a championship appearance due to a bogus phantom call. I still remember that game vividly.

How'd you like to be NDSU, facing a team in the quarters that was the only team to beat you during the regular season? I think they screwed up the seedings. They really could have switched UND and SDSU to the other side of the bracket to avoid conference matchups like this.

It doesn't work like that. They rank order the teams and then the seeds are determined based off of that. In this case they ranked SDSU lower, placing them in the NDSU side of the bracket.

I realize that, but it just seems stupid to me. There is very little difference between the #7 and #8 seeds and you could avoid these type of matchups with a little tweaking after everything has been set.

Whoa, I thought UND had the control of the game and decided to go put up Christmas lights. Came back and both Wofford and Richmond had won.

I like the way we match up with Richmond. I am certain we win this one.

Fun fact: If we win out, we won't see a seeded team in either the quarterfinals or the semi finals. If we win out, we won't see a seeded team all the way to Friscoe.
