FCS playoffs

So if more than half of the FCS is playing in the Spring, does that mean the teams scheduled for the Fall are now out of the playoffs entirely? In other words, NDSU and SDSU won’t be in contention? But since more than half of the FCS is playing tin the Spring, the FCS could still have the national championship in the Spring?

All of this shit is getting confusing. The NCAA has provided no leadership whatsoever. It would be nice if they just pushed all NCAA members back to the Spring and then played the entire schedule exactly as it would have been in the Fall. Doing this piecemeal BS is just a mess.

Only 2 remain now.
The Ohio Valley and Southern conferences have yet to announce a final decision about fall competition.

Interestingly, I heard the Big South is playing half of their season in the Fall and half in the Spring. Sounds like the MVC is considering doing the same, but with all conf games in the Spring. With basically every major conference jettisoning Fall football, it sounds like there is now a lot of pressure on the FCS to keep the playoffs intact starting in May.

So the rumor is the FCS is looking for a sixteen team playoff- basically normal without the play-in round- starting in April. It doesn’t sound confirmed yet, but it sounds like it has moved past the discussion phase and is moving toward implementation.
