FCS Stats Poll 11.7.16 > Again.... EWU remains at #3

Eastern's only loss was to #1ranked North Dakota State, and North Dakota State's loss was to South Dakota State. therefore Eastern Washington should be ranked #1. North Dakota State should be ranked #2. Jacksonville State and Sam Houston State #3 & #4.

I have a feeling the playoff committee's rankings will look different when they release them tomorrow. I think we belong at #2, behind NDSU. They did beat us, after all.

What is home field advantage generally worth, 3 points? Their loss is to 6-3 South Dakota St, our loss was to a 8-1. I don't buy into the argument that we lost to them so will forever be lower than them.
Eagles #1

Exactly, Eastern Washington lost to the #1 ranked team in the nation. So that means Eastern Washington has the best 'loss' and should be at least ranked #2. Having said that, they have the best 'wins' of any team in the nation excluding there one loss. So therefore Eastern Washington should be ranked #1.

You hit the nail on the head. The number of losses is obviously the first thing to consider. We have one, and it's an excusable loss in a road game against the team ranked #4 (and should be higher). Also important is that we have the best FCS win in the country right now over WSU. And past that, we have wins over somewhere between 2 and 5 teams that will be ranked at the end of the season in FCS.

There is good rationale for us being ranked anywhere from 1-3, but when the seeding comes out--- assuming we can win the last two-- I'd be shocked if we aren't either 1 or 2.

Coincidentally, Sam Houston State has been demoted according to the FCS committee. We are now #2 in that system behind Jax State.

Excellent news. #1 or #2 is fairly macht nichts.

I'm not so sure about that. There's a big difference in that the number 1 and 4 seeds are in the same bracket while the number 2 seed is in the same bracket as the 3 seed. The current rankings put us in the same bracket as NDSU.

I don't think it matters. I believe that we'd have to get through them either way, so would you rather play them on our home field or in Frisco where they'd have a huge advantage in numbers of fans?

In Frisco, Delaware had the stands full also but it didn't matter. I want to kick their smug little asses in the biggest stage available. Then whip them again in the Fall next year. Besides the committee is not going to put us in the same bracket, they will not let it happen. Trust an old geezer if we both make, it they want us in Frisco not in ND or Cheney.
