The final cool kid at band camp list was posted (mid Major top 25) and here is what we learned:
Making it to the final four makes you the ultimate cool kid. Wichita jumps from #11 to #1.
Losing in the second round as a #1 seed doesn't effect your status much. Gonzaga goes from #1 to #2.
Pulling off two major upsets is enough to get you in the top ten but nothing more. Florida Gulf Coast went from #25 to #10.
Getting your trash kicked by 50 points as a 13 seed will drop you a spot or two but nothing more. (Montana)
Making the NIT Final Four was enough to move BYU from 18 to 12.
Running through the CIT and losing at the buzzer was worth moving from 16 to 15. (Weber)
All in all it was a good year for the band kids. Anytime a Mid-Major makes the final four it is a good year.
