MSU was down by 21 at halftime and lost by 4. MSU has now lost 8 in a row. Maybe old school at wasn't far off predicting to lose out. They face Idaho on Sat. then at psu/ewu and finish with ISU at home.

San Jose has lost 9 of their last 13 games.

MSU showed grit coming back to only lose by 4.

I think we have a GREAT shot at beating San Jose State. That Adrian Oliver though seems like he is quite the player, he had like 35 points for the Spartans. Weber is gonna have to find a way to shut him down.

Weber is a lot better defensive team than the Bobcats. Honestly, I hope that the Bobcats could have pulled off the W last night and that they can win on Sat. Non-conference wins go a long way for the conference's RPI (whatever and however they, the powers that be, figure RPI out). Anyway, I think Weber, is in an excellent position of beating San Jose. Yes, they are a very offensive team, but defensively, they are weak, and their post play is terrible. Weber is a far better defensive team, and, at the moment, our inside out game is working wonders. Weber has increased their assists per game average quite a bit over the past few weeks. Move the ball, run the sets correctly, and limit Oliver, and I see Weber coming home with a W.

On a side note...MSU got big games out of two Freshmen (Tre Johnson and Shawn Reid) and their Junior PG (Strickland) last night. I've been expecting Tre Johnson to have that type of game all season. I think the issue has been Huse not giving him anytime. Granted, there are 3 SRs who, probably deserve the most time, but if you have a Fresh who is better, or who could really use the experience, might as well play them. Evidently Rusch, Howard, and Poepelli haven't been doing that great as of late (disclaimer: I think Howard and Rusch are really good players, but once you start losing, as a SR you lose heart quick).

Also, I've heard a number of good things about another fresh (Salley) who is sitting this season out, he has had some knee issues. If he ends up panning out and these two other Fresh come back ready to go, I'm thinking the Bobcats might have a pretty decent looking team for next season. To bad the Frenchy that Huse signed wasn't allowed to play, NCAA, last year. Bourgalt I think it was...he had to go to a prep school back east and ended up getting signed by a bigger program. Bummer deal. He is a HELL of a player. To bad...having that kid at point with Johnson and Reid next year...YIKES!!

At the start of the season, I really thought that MSU was overachieving, and honestly, I'm not too shock seeing that the Bobcats are struggling. There is some talent. Also, they have a decent looking big coming in and already have a Selvigesque like player (Budinich) on the team. The talent is there for the Bobcats, now can the coach put it together??

You guys are cracking me up!!! Honestly, you are too kind. Let's call it as it truly is -- the Bobcats suck, and there is very little talent on the team or coming in the near future. We will lose out the remainder of the season and miss the BSC tourney -- bank on it.

Tad - to say that Budinich is potential "Selvigesque like player" just busts my gut! As for Salley, it is my understanding he is not even with the Bobcat program anymore, but rather is playing for a JC in California. Tre, Reid, and Singelton have potential, but Singelton suffered a nasty ankle sprain mid-season and hasn't been the same since. Afraid to drive or make good cuts. Reid will be okay; Tre has the makings of a good one -- problem is that he will be surrounded by very little talent and worse yet, coached by a HC who doesn't know what to do with the talent he has.

Can you guys guess that we have pretty much called it a season in Bozeman?
:wall:

If it makes you feel better old skool cat here is what I wrote yesterday about the Bobcats
I don't think there is any way in hell MSU gets 2 All Conference 1st team spots
I'll predict they get 0, and don't make the tournament Howard doesn't deserve it, either does Rush, anybody who saw the game Sunday knows how awful they are.....

They have lost 8, (7 in conference) in a row, and lost to maybe the worst team in Division 1 at home.....

MSU has lots of talent, the coaching staff just isnt using that talent to thier strenghts.

This is exactly why the BSC RPI is in the high 20s and why the conference tourney champ is looking at a 16 seed. MSU is under-achieving for sure, but they are likely in the BSC tournament; and they can't beat the worst team in the WAC? The bottom half of our league is killing us. Is there anyone good at math that could tell us what our conference RPI would look like with North Dakota and SUU? Would we even be ahead of the SWAC?
