This is UGLY. Just by looking at stats we are lucky our record is in upper half of the conference.
Particular glaring to me is penalties. 81 penalties is second only to Montana State at 82. The untold consequence of penalties is the drives they kill for us and the drives they keep alive for the competition. IMO excessive penalties are a coaching issue on both sides of the ball.

Wow - 6-5 starts to look pretty good.
Top three defenses in the playoff's..... draw your own conclusions

#7 in pass defense and pass eff defense.... doesn't line up with those thinking our DB's need an upgrade as it was the best part of the defense

defense worst on 3rd down and 4th down conversion

Approx 30 more penalties than our opponents and -7 turnover margin.... not gonna win many like that.

Glad to see others coming around to the coaching issues meme.

These issues, along with the conference worst first downs given up, are the critical issues. With a defense this bad, our offense has to be fierce. The second our offense starts sputtering, we're in a world of hurt.

The only thing I can add is that we regressed offensively, and that is a major problem. However, the most important thing to address is that our defense is this damn bad every year.

Tongue in cheek: Come and help me coach it up Dopa. :-)

As much as coaches like consistency this year had a lot of turmoil.
Change in defensive coordinator- change in defensive scheme
Change in offensive play caller - start the season calling from the box, by the end of the season back on the sideline.
Lose our all american QB
