Football Logo Question?

I know the wildcat is WSU's normal logo but I came across this earlier

never seen it in my life n I grew up near WSU...

That logo represents Promontory Point where the Golden Spike was driven connecting the East and West coast railroad. It was commissioned a couple of years ago as an additional logo to go on the back of the Wildcat helmets to bring a sort of "unity" to the Ogden area. Kind of like the "V" on the back of the Fresno State helmets.

Ron McBride brought the idea with him to Weber when he was hired.

Do the WSU helmets still have this logo?

Also, what did the V stand for that was on the Fresno helmets?

The Weber helmet has the standard wildcat logo on each side. The spike logo is a small sticker on the back of the helmet.

The V on Fresno's helmet was a tribute to the local area that they refer to as the valley.
