Hey SDH...what do you have to say now, genius?
Nothing other than it's minor thing already mentioned on this board. You must be upset that the violations aren’t the catastrophic ones you were hoping for. Hell for a 10 page “anonymous” letter I think we all expected more than some text messages and phone calls to recruits in the dead period, not keeping “voluntary” workouts voluntary, and not properly disciplining a handful of players that piss dirty (biggest issue of them all imo). Did the guy write the letter in crayon?OldSchoolHornet said:Hey SDH...what do you have to say now, genius?
Considering the large class that was brought in last off season with the self imposed restrictions in place, it doesn't look like the penalty will have that much of an impact.OldGreen67 said:As expected, nothing more than a big hand slapping.
Other than the probations, only remaining penalty is next year only being allowed to recruit 28 vs 30. With only a handful of seniors this shouldn't affect much. Most incoming freshman are on partial scholarships at the NCAA 1AA level anyway. Basically we lost one scholly for next year.
Yup. That sets a bad example to not only the football program but other Hornet athletes. There is no place for that anywhere in the athletics department.I am a little disappointed about the picking and choosing of players by the prior staff regarding who would be suspended or not for drug failures. Typically is a 1 or 2 game suspension. Make me believe/speculate that a couple of our offseason transfers this year were multiple test failures.
Yup, the recently changed NCAA violation structure probably played a role in these violations not resulting in significant penalties. At least the NCAA got it right this time and will be penalizing the offending coaches (should they return to coaching) and not the returning players in the program....to many times the NCAA is heavy handed to the wrong people.
