I found this website searching for fan gear. I'm a new fan, And yes because my son is in the recruiting class 2017. From what I've seen in the last spring game. I think it's a really good team. I do believe they will do well this season. I was just wondering what you guys think.

Welcome. Glad you found the site. Judging from your handle, I'm assuming your son is Robert Holt (#47). It will be interesting to see him grow in the program. I think Barnum is pretty high on him.

I think we have some unknowns in the program that will keep this good team from being great this year. I think we will need some breaks to contend for the playoffs. If we can settle on some positions early on, particularly at quarterback, I think we could surprise some people. Quarterback play has always been a barometer in the conference and being that it sounds like we are still battling between two (maybe three) QB's, that may be an area of concern.

I like that our schedule is a straight DI schedule (no lower division opponents). I like having the two heavyweights in the conference this year (North Dakota and NAU) at home. I also like not playing Northern Colorado this year, a team we have struggled against since Barnum has arrived, and a team that I think could be on the rise this year. EWU on the road is always a tough one, and this year we also go to Montana State and Cal Poly. Those three games will not be easy.

This year, I'm thinking maybe 4th or 5th in the conference. I like what I'm seeing next year, however.

I think it would be great if we could work toward becoming the Boise State of Oregon. My hope is that, when we start to get good, that Penelope Knight will begin to support her alma mater in like manner as her philanthropic husband, Phil, has supported his.

She could be our future philanthropist.

Yes that's him. I'm going to take your word for it. The only team I know about is cal poly, They have a Rb there that came from my son's school and he is a beast. I will be keeping tabs on the on the other teams you named. Looking forward to chatting with everyone on this site. If My son happen to have a bad game don't don't hold back it is what it is.

That would be nice.

Welcome to the forum, Teamholt! How we're going to do? I think it's fair to say we'll be better than Sac StateWe're still a young team, however. I'd be happy with a 5/6 season. It does hang on the QB. We've got good WRs, RBs, TEs. We should be able to generate the numbers, given a reasonable QB. Defense is young. We're a little short on Ss. Robert might well play as a freshman, though I think he should redshirt. It's almost always a tough decision. We'll be watching him!

If they redshirt him I'lll be find with that. If you ask him he wants to play asap. After the spring game he was saying He wanted to play early, He is trying to find out from the coaching staff if there's a way he can come up early. He is training just in case his number gets called.

Oh and he is fired up to play sac state. I'd never seen him that fired up about any game. I'd hate to be on that offence. They better not throw the ball. (Personal vendetta)

Too bad we don't play them this year. Hornets losing their QB (transferring out) could make them pretty vulnerable as they go through growing pains. We do play Davis in a home game (half of the Causeway). You should come up for that game. :thumb:
