The signing party was good and pretty well attended. Here are some notes of interest I got from the party:
The only JC recruit is a very large man with good talent and should come in and compete for playing time right away. The reason he attended JC is because he really didn't pick up football until his Junior year in high school.
Several of the new recruits will be going on missions. I don't remember all of the names of those going but I believe Anderson, Heimuli, Alex Knowles, Taylor, one of the Hawaii kids, and maybe another one or two will be going.
About 4 or 5 return missionaries will join the team this fall.
Shelton Robinson was highly recruited by Idaho St and we are fortunate to have gotten him.
Nak's appeal for another year is still in process and the team probably won't find out anything until after spring ball.
Tommy Lee and Kafusi join the coaching staff, with Lee running the offense.
Mac feels like most of the team's talent is in the freshman and sophomore classes.
Due to back surgery, Justin White's career is over. Look for Josh Booker and Tafuna, and/or one of the new recruits to run the ball this year. Mac really likes Booker, and thinks he can be very good.
With Collins and Phillips back, along with Quaid Morris, the receiving corp should be a strength of the team. Mac really likes Quaid Morris, brother of Trevor of the hoops team. Having Lee run the offense will help the passing game as well.
Mac likes the idea of playing BC and Tech. He doesn't look at those games as money games, but will be going there to win.
