Football suspensions on the way...

From what I could see, the only suspended player who has seen any serious playing time is #1 Robbie Diamond. The rest don't seem to be getting much PT and are mostly Freshman. Hopefully these young men will learn some important lessons and respect Coach Mac and the rules.
Robbie Diamond has only played in 1 game this year(ISU) because of an injured elbow. So really WSU won't miss much with these suspensions.
True, but Diamond recorded eight tackles in just his first game back against the Bengals. He definitely was a force out there.
The fact that these 8 guys aren't playing will NOT MATTER at ALL for this game. Please, 7 guys who havn't seen the field yet and 1 guy who played in one game and actually got beat on coverage several times. Our DB's are more than capable in this game. This wont determine the outcome of the game.

The nice thing about this team is its depth. Granted, some of the players being suspended have seen time on the field, I know that Luke recovered a fumble and had a great game against EWU, Diamond came back last week from an elbow injury and had a good game for the Cats, and will be back against UM. These are mostly young guys who are new to college.

What hurts is that 3 of the suspensions are WR. Shufford, to me, is a loss. He has had some nice catches this season and can really spread the field and gives Hoke more options. Taggart, hasn't played, but will end up being one of our best WR in the future. Lanny, has had some time, and with the time he has had, look fairly solid. I believe he had a catch last week, maybe the rock was just thrown his way. This will give some of the other guys, on the bench, a chance to step up. I'm thinking we might finally see Nakamura out on the field this week.

I've always believed that PT is a result of hard work and, sometimes, luck. This could be a great opportunity for another player to step up his game and get some PT.

Underage Drinking? some people on this board are acting like these kids did something SERIOUSLY wrong. Give me a break, at least none of these kids were dumb enough to get behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated. I vaguely remember some people on this board calling for a young QB's head (Cameron Higgins) after he was suspended from stealing from the bookstore. Higgins learned, and these kids will learn from their mistakes too. Time to move on.

I agree with Punky.

The penalty fits the flag. Its all water (kinda) under the bridge. We still love 'em. Move on.

Absolutely. We'd be pretty naive to think collegiate athletes don't like to have a good time and party just as much (if not more) than the rest of us. Petty offenses receive petty punishments. And this scenario is just that. To me, Trevyn Smith drinking until he blacks out on the road and misses a team meeting was much worse than this and he only got a HALF-game suspension.
Small potatoes...

And whats the point of bringing up this story up now? :blah: :blah: :blah:

Ha ha too little too late. Yes I am in fact Gabriel Bowers and I did know better at the time. OK so here's the story first off I wasn't drunk, not one drink I had just gotten out of surgery the week before. The cops showed up and as everyone in ogden who has dealt with their party task force, yeah they have a party task force. These guys showed up with just a little less than swat gear. They kicked in the door to their house without as so much as a warning. I was sitting on the patio watching the whole thing. The the next thing I saw was one copy pulling Loni out by his hair they threw him off the deck about 4ft high and 4 of them restrained him, one by smashing his knee into his face. So me at the time double majoring in political science and history with an emphasis on constitutional law know this is 1. excessive nothing was loud the doors to the house were closed and nobody was resisting arrest. 2. They did not have so much as a warrant or a probable cause all there was was an overzealous neighbor and a lot of cars outside the house. So with all of this going on I was talking to a cop I was polite I wasn't yelling and the guy told me to shut the f$ck up. I told him that's unwarranted and he said oh f$ck you is this unwarranted (keep in mind my elbow and arm are locked into a bent position with a cast) he breaks may cast by forcing my arms behind my back and smashes my face into the hood of a car he bends the pins in my wrist I'm in excruciating pain and then I'm arrested just for what I told you. You can get the police report and it's full of lies you can ask anyone of the people their and they will tell you I was arrested for no reason. So yeah I shouldn't have been there but there was a girl there at the time I liked and well lesson learned.

We really need to de-militarize our police. They need to stop thinking of the public, in general, as the enemy. Just saying. :bad:
