Forward - Backward - Stuck in the middle?

Where are the Wildcats at as a team? It seems like the team has not made much progress this season. Sure there have been glimpses but seems like we just keep seeing the same old problems. Was listening to the post game show and coach said we need to get tougher and that it was his responsibility to teach it. I am not so sure this team has that mind set, and not sure you can teach it. It just does not seem to be in their personality. Lots of other teams have youth, JC kids, etc. and they seem to be progressing. Just not sure we are. Thoughts?

I think we are just stuck!
I don't get the coaching. If something starts to work, we stop doing it! I would've gone to Hajek over and over until they showed they could stop him! PSU didn't have to stop him because Rahe did! He pulled him from the game!

We are in a zone and we take the lead! The zone is confusing the hell out of them so we go back to man to man in which they've been torching all night! Stuck is a great word, because every game is like Deja Vu!
First, we get abused in the paint, second, Senglin diving into 3-4 defenders instead of dishing to his open teammate. Third and most confusing..... The inability after almost 20 games to make them pay for double teaming Bolomboy! I still don't understand what's wrong with Hill! Maybe football was the right sport for him!

Frustrating! I'm looking forward to seeing how this team AND the coaches handle adversity! Rate said he's not a very good X's and O's coach...... Then you need someone on the bench that is!

Well...I'm thinking, at least, three players on the team this year are gone next year. Three plus James. I don't think Coston will be back, I'm pretty sure Van Pelt will be gone (He should become a high jumper. If I was him I'd go see Coach Walker and high jump), and one more. Not sure who, but someone won't be back.

When the WSU women's basketball team wins then that night WSU men's team loses. The ladies won last night and last saturday, I don't know the last time the two teams have both won a game the same day (exhibition games excluded). The only solution is to fire Ord for starting to win and bring in someone that can restore balance to the program. It's not a issue of toughness, defense, shooting, starting five, it's the girls fault, stop wining so our men's team can go back to being the dominating force in the conference.

They both won last Thursday night.

You're right, they have a 3 game win streak going on. Let's hope last Th wasn't an exception and they can both win tomorrow night. (I'm not holding my breath)

I'm waiting for Bovee to give Beth-Ann a 5 year extension. She has a winning streak!!

This might be a little long, so bare with me folks, anyway. I think this is part of the programs growing pains. I know Utah Pirate hasn't been on here today (for me, at least, he is the voice of reason and patience) so I'm going to borrow some of his past line. This is a building year. This season is as much about next season. Growing tends to hurt sometimes and right now it is hurting.

Lets look at the positives....

1. We have a young team. Three upper-class men are getting substantial mins. Two of the three are Jrs. Last night two true freshman played over 10mins and the rest of the time was used by Sophomores. They are getting experience and these games will help them to gel.

2. Recruits coming in. Jordan Dallas has been having a nice year in a very tough league. His last game was a 17 pt. 13 rebound type game. The kid loves Weber too. I'm excited to have him join our program. What a steal he is going to be for the Cats. Next is Emmanuel Nzekwesi...seems like a class act and a really good guy. He has a voice and will be a great leader for the Cats. Also, the kid is a double-double machine and knows how to score. Juwan Williams has been having a great senior year. He is a pass first guard with great basketball IQ and can really take it to the hoop. Yes, these are all freshman, but the type of recruit coming in is something exciting and special for the Cats. Not to mention that Weber gets Cannon back next year, another pass first guard who can really score if need be, and we all know how good Riley Court is. He is having a magical year. http://www.deseretnews.com/sports/high-school/player/stats/137228/1/Riley-Court-Boys-Basketball" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Something to really look forward to. Cannon's numbers were very similar, except instead of rebounds he had assists. (To me Weber needs to recruit more of these kids, but I can't complain about our recruits. I'm really excited about who we have coming in).

3. Braxton and Jefferson. Yes, they could have helped this year, but think how much more valuable they will be next year. I love Braxton's energy on the bench. He is always jumping up getting the guys excited and going. Jefferson looks like he is coming into his own and will become a really good player for the Cats.

4. Maybe Duft will get hired. LOOOOOOOOOOL WE NEED A REAL BIGS COACH. I know positives, but I couldnt help it.

I agree about Braxton, I think he could have helped us this year but just think if we would have been able to redshirt Tres he would be a senior this year, he contributed his freshman year but an extra year would have been huge. It will only help WSU in the future.

I thought the board agreed that we wouldn't talk about Braxton! I think he would make a huge difference for us on defense and offense. He looks solid in practice and other members of the team wishes he was eligible this year. I think he and Jefferson are going to be studs for us unless we bring in some JC players to give Braxton and Jefferson another year to develop!

I like our team, but thought the JC's would be a lot better. Someone on the forum had Braxton as our 5th option as a big! I think he would've been starting at post by now and Bolomboy would be at 4. I'm looking forward to seeing him play next year..... Hope he's willing to be physical because we are missing that presence in the middle.

Tal you are an idiot sometimes. Duft? Why are you hating on him? If he really is the bigs coach, then you might have an argument, our bigs have been pretty bad this season and aren't getting better. That doesn't change the fact that you are a blow-hard that acts like he knows everything.

We don't need to talk about Braxton. He is going to be good for us. But that won't start till next year. As for now, this year, what needs to happen is a change in the starting lineup. Even though Tal has some radical ideas I will agree with him on one thing, changing the starting lineup. Hayden should be starting and so should James. End of story.

I'm confident that somewhere deep in the corridors of the Dee...... Rahe is getting his point across to this team. They will come out with attitude on Saturday night and will take Sac St by 5-7 points.

It's been a very tough start to a difficult season, but these guys are too talented to continue to flop their way through this season. I think the coaches and players need to look within and figure out what they need to change! All the problems are self inflicted...... I think we got a little cute and the coaches starting tinkering too much.

It all changes with Sac St! Let's get ready to rumble!
