Everything was perfect last night except for the final score. I wish Weber could get another shot at Utah State! The Dee was loud an in charge but the tying bucket was just off the mark. Hard fought instate battle. My hats off to USU. This has been a rough week for them and they brought it together last night and got a win in a very hostile environment. Now that that game is over, I wish the Aggies good luck in their upcoming season. I think they are a good team and will surprise some.
Now...we all knew they'd play a 1-3-1 a lot. They couldn't guard us with a man or a 2-3 (I don't think they ran a 3-2) zone. Does Randy even prepare for zones? Also, when the hell will he get an inbounds play? It took the entire game until Kyndahl merely turned around and attacked the bucket with a dunk to break their 1-3-1. Next...I hate that those stupid ass cards are getting pulled out with 3 mins to play. You don't have time. Once the team started to run...what happened? We went on a 9-0 run. My bone-head plays of the game. Take a layup when you can , the missed dunk was incredibly stupid, and the lane violation. There's our three points.
Richardson needs to really work on his defense. To me, he isn't a starter. Love when Jeremy gets pissed he becomes unstoppable. Bolomboy...well...he is still soft in the middle. He is a beast. Nobody doubts his abilities; yet, I wonder how good he could have gotten with a big man coaching him. Randy desperately needs a big man coach. Stew...please come help Randy coach bigs! As for Baker...he didn't disappoint. He had the ball in his hands to end the game. That's confidence. Cannon...yikes! As the game went on he got better and better. He and Rectum for USU were going at it pretty good. He's a competitor! What a player! Zach got a bit gun shy after that crap call on him but he has some nice moves. On defense he has to be tough. Randy should borrow Cody Eyolfson, Helam Heimuli, and Tui Satalua and have them bang with the bigs. It would only toughen up our bigs and help them to become better defenders. Zach has a lot of potential. It's going to be fun to watch him develop. A little shocked that Jefferson never got on the floor. I would have rather seen him then Richardson last night. Ryan is damn good but wasn't last night. Ryan and Gittens shooting in desperation at the end of the game also were bone-headed plays. Got to be smarter at the end of games. You don't heave up a desperation shot with 15 seconds on the shoot clock. Ugh!
