Ok, just some random thoughts concerning getting more money. Call it the QB club or whatever. Everyone donate $100.00. Geez, how many ex players are there ?? A couple of thousand?? How many alums in the state?? How many crazy fans that show up week after week? I know times are tough but just $100.00 ?? Do the math !! This money would stay with just football. One can still fund the B & G club. Look what the BB team is doing ! They have a roundball club. Personally I can see this working for every sport there is. Not sure how to implement this. I would surely think there are some grad students that could get the ball rolling. This athletic Dept. is just not hitting the trail . People are just not getting contacted properly. We need some sort of marketing blitz. I know this can work. Any thoughts???

The QB Club is a great way to bring money into football. Let's face it, we need better assistant coaches and we need an offensive line coach. The QB club money goes directly into getting coaches and I believe it goes into recruiting. Our AD is a mess and they have no idea how to market, so lets get members on here to give. :D

It already exists:

Yes it already exists, but its not getting out to the right people and it is not easy enough to find on the site. And only 25% goes to the program. And they don't present it as affordable. The big money is fine for all the big hitters, but like I said, market it also for the regular guy and with all the ex players & familes and alums that are just waiting for someone to contact them. Don't just say, it already exists. No one is following up !! We need a voice!!

Geez, lay off the messenger. I was just pointing out that what you were proposing is already in place--not in the way you want it, but it's already there.

Look over http://give2uncathletics.org/ There's plenty of options for giving there, if you haven't visited.

I'm not yelling at you.I know there are plenty of places to give but you are not getting my point. Whoever the powers that be are not reaching out like they could be. I bet half the people have never checked the website. My point is,There is no enthusiasm. We need somebody to grab the bulls by the horns and go after people. And don't tell me somebody is already doing it. If they are, they are not doing a good enough job !!

Laugh it up chucckles but just being a complainer doesn't make things happen. You talked about someone needing to take the "bull by the horns"...well get crackin. Or are you an ATNA?

I give to the QB and will continue. I see it as a way to improve the program overall. We can't expect to win in this conference with the low-level assistant coaches we have now. I'm sure Collins hands are tied with our budget. SO...let's help him out. More money to QB Club = better coaches = better recruiting = MORE WINS!!!!! Everyone is happy!!!!

Why doesn't someone contact this former UNC student who gave 30 million to CSU and about 20 million to the football program. I'm sure if we asked nice she could come up with something.

She's a big fan of Sonny Lubick. I agree we could have used that money. She does give money to our academics, but athletics would have been nice.

another former alum, but one with perhaps stronger ties to UNC since he actually graduated, is the current Colorado Buffs WR coach Bobby Kennedy. A buddy had an extra ticket and invited me to a CU luncheon this season in Denver. Kennedy talked (to a roomful of Colorado fans/donors/alumni) about his time as a Bear and how grateful he was to be back in Colorado. (He had been coaching for University of Texas.)

He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Political Science in 1989 after lettering at quarterback for four seasons from 1985-88. He began his coaching career at Boulder High School, his alma mater, where he graduated from in 1985 and lettered in football and track.

I think we name a QB award after him, and invite him to the presentation. Sneaky, huh?
Gotta start somewhere.
