Future Football Schedules

It would be nice to give OSU a loss just like Suck State did this year.

btw - Suck State must be Bi-Polar. They beat Oregon State and then lose to WSU and SUU only to come back the next week and lay some serious wood on Montana. I am glad we caught them on depressive week and not in their mania phase.

beating an fbs was big for sac and shows they are good this yr. losing to weber and suu are NOT bad losses. both on the road. weber and suu could end up in the top 10. plenty of games left but wsu and suu are very good is all im saying. it very well might be possible that montana aint all that even though they usually are a solid top 10 team.
It isn't so much that they lost those games, but the way they lost. They were manhandled by both SUU and WSU. And same with the wins. They beat a Pac-12 team and manhandled the Griz. It's hard to figure the Hornets out.

ya neither were close but the road is hard to win on especially when u start the season 3 games on the road. look at basketball, we are glad to even split a big sky road trip. even when we know our team is much better, the road sucks, travel issues, hotels, tough away crowds, sometimes it can be more than a week away from home.

the montanas is always the toughest road trip since they are usually good, but the toughest road trip is sac/nau, its bad for travel even though sac is never good. since unc joined though i dont think sac/nau are travel partners anymore. its been 2-3 since ive seen it.

I don't like the OCC schedules! This FBS crap is starting to really bug. I'm starting to agree with Catcat. Weber should be 3-1 right now, but instead the Cats are 2-2. Granted, that wins should have been against a FBS, but still. It's an FBS we know we can beat. Why not play those type of FBS teams?

DI-A games are becoming a tired subject. If not for the Utah State game Weber State would be in the top 25 by now. We can't all be E Wash and be winless and ranked. Two games a year playing up is fine on a 12 game schedule. Eleven games it is harder to afford 2 guaranteed games that are guaranteed losses.

Wyoming and Colorado State have been beatable teams for the past few years.

what ever happened to the fresno game? is that off now?
I'm pretty sure it is still on. It is still listed on fbschedules.com and they seem to keep good tabs on everything... For FBS teams.

Official announcement about the Oregon St game:

OGDEN, Utah - Weber State and Oregon State today announced the two schools have scheduled a football game for the 2015 season.

The Wildcats and Beavers will meet for the season opener set for Sept. 5, 2015 at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon.

"We're excited for the chance to play a Pac-12 team and know this will be a game our fans will look forward to," said Weber State Director of Athletics Jerry Bovee.

The two schools were originally looking to play in 2012 but the game was moved back to 2015 after Weber State and BYU scheduled a game in the 2012 season.

The 2015 game will be the first meeting between Weber State and Oregon State. The University of Utah is the only school from the Pac-12 Conference that Weber State has played. The Wildcats have played just four schools (Arkansas, Boston College, Texas Tech, Utah) that are currently members of a BCS conference.

Well...Unless Oregon State is paying the Cats a shiz load of cash, I'm pretty sure this is the first of two FBS games. I'm guessing we will be hearing an announcement anytime about either USU or BYU playing in 2015. I know that USU wanted to play the Cats every other year for a while. That would put USU back on our schedule for 2015.

I wonder what the payouts for the three PAC-12 games are. Weber plays Utah, Arizona St, and Oregon State in consecutive years. I've got my fingers crossed that each game is worth $500K-$750K. I know USU isn't going to pay Weber a lot to come north. Maybe $150K if we are lucky.

Who do you want to see in Stewart Stadium as OOC in 2014?

My top 5

1. South Dakota (0-0-1 vs the Coyotes last game 1970 in Ogden a 21-21 tie)
2. South Dakota State (3-0 vs the Jackrabbits last game in 1976 in Ogden a 52-19 win)
3. North Dakota State (0-4 vs the Bison last game 2005 in Fargo a 41-0 loss)
4. Northern Iowa (1-2 vs the Panthers last game 1991 playoff loss in Cedar Falls 38-21)
5. William and Mary (0-1 vs the Tribe, last game was a shellacking 38-0 first round playoff loss in Williamsburg)

After those 5, I like to see anybody else in the FCS

Any of the above, but no way is W&M going to make a trip out west. Would be awesome to see the 2011 national champion Bison make a trip to Ogden. But more than likely Weber gets another FBS road game :ohno: and a lower division home game. But would love to see Bovee surprise me with another ooc FCS game.

Yeah W&M is a stretch, as is any team from the CAA, I would like to play W&M again though, and maybe get a little revenge, or at least be competetive.

I really hope that since we will be playing ASU in 2014, that that would be good enough for a playup game, and we can schedule another FCS home game and maybe even a play down home game, why not try to get 6 road and 6 home games? :-D (yeah I know it's never that easy) I would rather play on the road over two play down games though.

I know this is a total pipe dream on my part, but what about a 2-1 against a lower FCS instead of a DII or worse. I know that Bovee wants to do four things with our football program: 1. Annually compete for a spot in the playoffs, 2. Develop the program and build up the fan base (facilities and marketing), 3. Stop playing down, & 4. Play one FBS money game a year. I think a 2-1 against, let's say Alcorn St., Austin Peay, or San Diego accomplishes all four (creating fans is a stretch with those teams, yet, at least Weber would get two home games from the deal). I'm sure its not even possible, but it is a thought. 2015 could end up being a 4 home game season or a season with mutes on our schedule.

THIS IS THE PLACE: Hill joked that 2013 is "the local year" for Utah football. The Utes' entire non-conference schedule is comprised of in-state foes. They'll face Weber State and Utah State at home and BYU on the road.

Ugh...2013 looks like one of the toughest schedules I've seen in a long time. YIkes!! Thankfully, the Cats have Stephen F. at home to start the season, but that doesn't make the game easy. Then Utah, Utah State, and McNeese before getting Sac at home and then two more road games at Eastern on the tampon and at Cal Poly. Could be a nightmare season next year.

I wouldn't doubt if the Cats see a cupcake in 2014 to give us six home games. Maybe Dixie State again.
