GAME DAY: Oct 11, WSU @ Montana State

The skiing comment was in bad taste... MT has great resorts and excellent back country. Anyway, just thinking about skiing starts hurting the knee..
So the football game... Hey this may be a dumb question, but do you know how hard its suppose to snow on Sat/Sat Night... Any accumulation reports??

Im saying that Weber will win by 10 or more, Trevyn Smith will play like a man amongst boys yet again. And WSU's "D" will get the stops they need to win the game.
WSU doesnt mind playing in bad weather, just ask Sac St. last year and Montana last week.
GO WILDCATS!!!

Hey state congrats on your win over 0-5 ISU, for most teams in the conference ISU is considered a BYE or a scrimmage against the powder puff squad.
Weber isn't ISU! Our offense is far superior to anything you will face this year, including Minnesota that has one win against a team with a winning record, and a Kansas State squad that has look absolutely miserable. South Dakota, one word...OVERATED!! Don't even get me started about Adams state. PLEASE!! Heres a prediction: Crawford 75 total rush yards and whomever the QB is this week: 105 yards through the air. I see three Boobcat turnovers, all resulting in Weber State points, and finally Lulay crying, while being coddled by his older brother who probably is working at a plastic factor talking about his distinguished career as a Boobcat!

After watching the MSU at ISU game on espn 360, I am not as impressed by the video as I am with the Montana State statistics and decent showing against Minnesota. :o

Weber can pass and run. I do not think the Bobcats have a defensive answer for WSU's balanced attack and plethora of offensive weapons. :?

Perhaps more importantly, the MSU defensive line was not as strong as I expected it to be against Idaho State. Over the course of this week's game, I think Weber will dominate in the trenches. Thus the forecasted bad weather is likely to be yet another advantage to the Wildcats. 8-)

Yea, the DLine for that game was missing three starters, and will again tomorrow. We are banged up on the DLine; some kids have stepped up, but we are missing a potential All-American DE who fell victim to the horrible turf in Idaho. I am a bit worried about it, but our LB corp is leaps and bounds ahead of UM's. Overall, the Cats are going to have to play pretty darn good, and the other Cats (you guys) are going to have to slip up somewhere. It just snowed last night, which could neutralize the game a bit.

And Lulay just got signed by the Seahawks, sorry. :D

Sorry to hear about the DE who got injured at ISU...As I remember hitting the turf at the LOLT arena was like slamming concrete, and also, that cutting on the turf was absolute hell on your knees. ISU needs to change their field. On another note, injuries suck, but unfortunately, they are part of the game. The only good thing about them is that it gives the younger guys some much needed experience. Snow, Rain, bad weather is what football is all about!!! The ball is going to be slick, the field will be slick, the better team tomorrow will be the one who can handle the weather best.

Yeah...really not very close today. Great Game WEBER! Next UNC Bears (aren't they coming off their second DI win ever), Weber needs to stay focused and not overlook the Bears. Take care of business at home! One game at a time. I'm sure the Bears would love another DI victory, lets stop their winning streak at 1!!!

Rain, wind, cold, snow, bring it on! bring it all on!

For two weeks in a row, the "immovable objects" of the Montana and Montana State defenses were overcome by the irresistible force of the Weber State offense.

Leading 14-9 at the half, Weber came back to outscore MSU 21-3 in the second half. :D

ESPN:
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Cameron Higgins passed for 347 yards and four touchdowns to lead Weber State to a 35-12 win over Montana State on a blustery, snowy Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.

Higgins threw scoring passes to Mike Phillips, Tim Toone, Trevyn Smith and Marcus Mailei as the Wildcats (5-2, 3-0 Big Sky) remained atop the conference standings by sweeping the Montana schools for the first time since 1987.

Montana State (3-3, 1-1) got 75 yards rushing from tailback Demetrius Crawford and 306 total yards, but crossed the goal line only on quarterback Cody Kempt's 14-yard run late in the first quarter.

MSU led 9-7 after scoring a safety with 13:31 to play in the second quarter when the Wildcats snapped the ball over punter Mike Snoy's head and the ball sailed 43 yards through the end zone.

Weber State took the lead for good six minutes later when Higgins connected on a 58-yard pass to Phillips that was tipped by teammate Bryant Iteuati.

The Wildcats outscored MSU 28-3 in the second half.

It was a great game, Higgins is the man, anyone sure he is really from Hawaii, not Alaska? He has played exellent football in some nasty weather and looked like he has done it his whole life.

Anyone going to give Weber St some props now?

It blows me away, after we beat both UM and MSU convincingly MSU fans still have to much pride to admit that we are better then them. I always thought that UM fans were the big homers(for good reason) in the league but they were actually really good about the loss. MSU fans are a bunch of crying homers blaming the refs for bad calls that took the game out of reach. Well let me spell it out for you MSU fans, Weber strait up beat your a$$ into the ground because we are a much better football team than you. Now on to UNC. GO WILDCATS!

My favorite thread on their board was the one blaming the refs for the loss... I can agree with some of their fans, Big Sky officiating is very interesting at time, especially on the basketball court (Eric Curry, along with Flat Top, need to be fired), but today's game was fairly good. Its tough enough to play in that kind of weather, think about officiating in it??? The Offensive PI was legit... He got caught pushing off. The Defender had great position on the play, if he didn't push off that ball would have been picked and the final score would have been 35-9... Weber did have a pick and a Safety (whats up with the long snapper??) MSU could have capitalized on those things but didn't. Oh the Offsides call that negated the fumble. Sometimes the play continues after a ref blows a whistle, because, and especially in bad weather, the players can't all hear the whistle. If they didn't notice the fumble occurred because of the ref blowing the play dead. Good Grief... Weber won the game, they deserve some credit. Weber is an excellent team. Oh well...next week the Cats have got the Bears...One game at a time!!!

Well when you actually have a fanbase (it's pretty fun I suggest trying it) that isn't used to losing, that post on the same day when they are obviously upset about the loss, these things happen. Bobcat fans are extremely passionate and sometimes we don't take losing so well. We sometimes blames refs, Griz fans are good at blaming field conditions. You guys were good at blaming the fact you are a basketball school a lot. At least from the few fans I could actually find before this year.

Besides when we've seen anything from having our opponent punt the ball when the playclock was at zero for a good 3 seconds (twice in one game I might add), to having an INT stand that we threw when there was a false start on us (the complete opposite of what happened to you yesterday), to being flagged for excessive celebration during our first home Cat/Griz win in 20 or so years when we returned an INT for a TD and our DB dove into the endzone when no one was around him, to having a ball bounce off the endzone into a opponents DB's hands that was ruled to have bounced off an outstreched arm of our WR (when it was clearly not), Bobcat fans are a little cautious about Big Sky refs.

/rant off

Weber has a hell of a team, and we couldn't generate enough pressure on Higgins, especially on third down. I thought we did an okay job of containing Smith (until our banged up DLine finally wore down), but our 3rd down defense was atrocious.

Word of caution - don't be those annoying upstart fans that come out of nowhere and talk crap like they've been good for a long time. Weber has been my second favorite team for a long time in this league, especially since Smith came. Just let the play on the field do the talking for you. I'll be rooting for you the rest of the way out and hopefully into the playoffs, cuz if there is anything I enjoy doing more than shutting up conference foe's fans is east coast fans. :) I hate those guys...

Yeah Bobcat fans sound like a real bunch of winners with a lot of class. When they loose they just throw snowballs at their team. I would rather have 500 respectful fans than a bunch of crying babies who would do something like that. Way to show you have your teams back

We may be a little defensive because it has been a long time since we had a dominate football team.
We've had good teams, but nothing like this one (21 years at least). And to say that I haven't blamed refs for loses, well would be a bold faced lie!! Flat Top is still responsible for Weber not playing PSU in this years Big Sky Championship game. Thanks for the support. Hopefully Weber can keep playing hard-nosed football and get a playoff berth, I'd love to see the Cats beat down some teams from back east.

MSU = Eagle fans. Love you when your winning, get on you when you aren't. Boo every team that runs into the stadium. Yells at refs. Hostile environment.

WSU = Fans? What fans?

All of these things are what makeup a good environment, home field advantage. But throwing stuff at or booing college athletes for loosing a game is pathetic.

The Bobcats' season is not yet over. They have a great defense - particularly at linebacker - and the Wildcats are lucky that we are unlikely to see them again this season. :!:

...but whining only detracts from a great team, even if you are manly enough to signpost the rant. :?

...Weber obviously has a share of sunshine fans - at this point, I'll take whatever fans I can get!

We are in violent agreement about those east coast fans! Big Sky All the Way! :!: :!: :!:
