Game Day Thread- EWU VS CWU

Not sure I'd start a QB named Lemming...

Got my wish. Lots of RB's saw some time. No one seemed to get hurt and Eags had a big game. Hard to fault any of those results. Good win Eags!

So much for ESPN+ and the BigSky. I don't care who's at fault, my guess it's a failure at the EWU media, SWX, BigSky and ESPN+ Many other colleges manage to get their shit together. Thank goodness for Larry and dingbat Sorenson.

Here's what the folks at ESPN's tech support had to say about the failure to broadcast the game... How shocking that all the other BIG Sky games on ESPN seemed to work just fine. It might be beneficial if everyone bitches about it to escalate the solution.

ESPN: The game actually had a technical difficulties before the first quarter ends. The only information that we were able to get is that there's a current network issue at site. However, we already escalate the concern to our engineering team. Although there is no known fix yet, our engineering team is doing their best to resolve the issue for this particular match. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

ME: Will future games be broadcast properly? If it's a one time thing, I get it. But I don't want to miss every game. That's the whole reason I paid for ESPN+.

THEM: We're also hoping that this gets resolved as soon as possible by our engineering team. But I'm afraid to tell you that I can't assure you that, yet. Since other matches aside Eastern Washington v Central Washington were experiencing technical difficulty as well. However, our engineering team is already working on it.

Other news... a whopping 4,600 people in attendance today. Montana and Montana State are sell outs. The lack of attendance is concerning. I believe this is our lowest attended regular season game in about 12 years. What's weird is that most teams are selling tickets easily, attendance had been pretty good around the country for the first week. Washington, WSU ,and now Eastern struggled bad with attendance over the first couple weeks. Something is culturally unusual about the state of Washington where football is not getting adequate attention.

Watching the Montana Game one SWX and the stands are definitely not full.

I was there and listening to Larry...he said over 7k in attendence...that fudging but no school yet don't think but not many were in front of us. Home side looked ok alot of people filled in late.. And our students are weak.
* side note UNLV led #24 Arizona St, 3-0 end of one...ASU just scored a TD but UNLV driving.
**10-3 UNLV it's on espn2

* Jacksonville STbeat Florida State
**Montana beat our next opponent Western Ill. 42-7
***UNLV down 14-10 at half vs #23 Arizona ST.
**** There some really good FCS teams out there

Hard to take much from these first two games. We seemed fairly evenly matched against UNLV but FBS games are always hard to gauge….and then yesterday’s matchup wasn’t much of one. Will be interesting to see how this team fairs against a common opponent with Montana in W. Illinois.

Missoulian article states 25,238 which is about 1,100 shy of record attendance, so they must’ve considered the game technically sold out. Looks like Bozeman had some empty seats as well. I had concerns that the year and a half hiatus along with the COVID economic impact on discretionary spending might result in a major decline in attendance. Thankfully it doesn’t appear to be an issue. It’s great to see the student section full again, there was a definite drop off during the Stitt campaign. You guys didn’t have students on campus yet so I’d imagine you’ll see a healthy attendance bump as well.
