It is 8:30 and my wife will not let me leave yet. Dressed, hairy hat and all.

Hey Ron, were you by chance sitting in c section up on top in an aisle seat? Walked by a nice looking gentleman with a white beard in a hairy hat with a huge grin that looked like he was in heaven.

Also, mighta saw scotty, a younger gentleman looking as if he was having the time of his life.Don't believe he wasn't sitting by his wife cause the girl sitting by him was a young fox and might have been his daughter. Thought perhaps his wife didn't go cause she was upset after scotty got those season tickets without asking her.

Know I saw 60s Savage. Had to be as who else would be wearing an old pair of worn out white Addidas three strip 1960's basketball shoes sipping on a rusted out flask with an EWU Savage on it? Had dark sunglasses and a red smackers hat on.

Last but not least think Black Falkin was in attendance. A rather large man with an unlit cigar protruding from his lips pointing his fingers here and there. He was wearing what looked to be a "heavy crown".
That old "rusted out flask" has had so many soddered repairs it weighs twice as much, stuff tasts a little funny; BTW, that's a EWCE Savage image. Yeah, pre-P.C. - they were producing savage teachers then. Anybody find my old leather helmet, had a tooth embedded in it, may have left it in the outhouse, I mean restroom! Go Savages! I mean, Eagles.

60s, must apologize for the oversight on the EWCE flask. I was on campus when they started to pull out the newly laid brick that had the Savage logo on it around the athletic building...much to my dismay.

25? That wasn't me. I was an end, 80-something. We played them on a Columbus Day, state holiday, so about 95% of the residents were rooting for us. It was a very clean game, hardly any penalties; the most memorable one called after the game was over which eliminated our winning touchdown. Talk about old guys, the Steeler QB said he'd been on the team for seventeen years. The bus home blew a piston outside of Waitsburg, and we didn't get back to Cheney 'til the next morning. I guarantee you there was no flyer or poster or tickets for our game.

There wasn't anything negative being a Savage then. EWCE was a friendly campus, Sacajawea was the welcome hostess, and a student wearing buckskins and feather headgear did a war dance at games. No disrespect. However, I love being a proud Eagle today, but feel removing a commemorative "Savage" brick is petty.

Does anyone have a link to that newspaper ad? That would make an awesome framed print for the home office.

It's game day, I'm so excited! Hope to see the "Best Express" with a little more Nebraska ground and pound , featuring Custer and McPhearson! I love how the ground game came together last week. Looking forward to a great game from the Eagles!
