Game

Looking like another ISU fbs loss.

As usual, poor scheduling seems to prohibit moving forward and a playoff appearance. Win out for a playoff spot.

When you are taking money from an opponent you have little to zero choice as to when the game is going to be played.

It is what it is when you are a smaller conference / school that needs the funds.

Whatever, dood. This is a problem whether you like to admit it or not. WE ALL KNOW THIS.

Jeff didn't know how to schedule. He said he was mandated to play 2 FBS money games, but the folks who were on lower campus at the time said they never made such requirement. Go figure that one out. The 2 FBS games became a regular occurrence under Tingey. Fact.

This year's schedule is another bad example, but this team will deal with it and still be successful. Only 2 of the last 6 games are home games. A bye in the very second week? Coach made a comment earlier this season "asking" who was responsible for that.

You have to schedule for success. You have to tell the conference to try, try again if their first computer model screws you. You get your FBS games over early in the season. Pauline and Kevin know this. It will change, but there are still games Jeff scheduled. Next year is a 12 game schedule, if I'm not mistaken. Good thing, because non-conference games include away games at Utah, BYU, and Northern Iowa. A cupcake at home is probably needed.

The folks now in charge know that the way ISU has been doing things HASN'T BEEN WORKING. Time to get on board. It is changing.

JJB, I hope it is changing. This has been a point of discussion going back to when it started under Lewis. IMO, the kids were as good, probably better, than Liberty.

Heck, take a random sample of 26 percent of ALABAMA'S team qnd REMOVE them and they would not be the same.

Dood...yes it's an issue. The problem though is as long as you decide to take the money there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. You say "thank you sir, may I have another" and hope the check clears.

The good news is that the new president has already stated publicly that in the future if ISU decides to play two money football games a year it won't be because of a mandate from the other side of campus. It will be because of their choice. In the past that was totally and completely dictated by them. I actually spoke with a long time rep in the athletic department tonight on this very issue and they confirmed that...it was the other side of campus that was directly telling the athletic department they had to do this because of the money.

Next year the money games are at Utah and at BYU (and I think the BYU game is the seventh week of the season if I remember right...) However as of right now, the only money game scheduled for 2020 is at New Mexico and that happens to be around the time the Big Sky is considering going to nine conference games.
