Gameday at North Dakota

Total BS.

Poor play calling.

I feel like under Walsh and Glanville, we had about three QBs each year who were better than KM has been this season.

Hard to argue that, but it's unfair to squarely blame KM. The entire offense has been bad. No consistent running game, receivers that are constantly running the wrong routes or dropping passes. And our QB who won't set his feet and deliver strike when somehow our receivers do get open on routes. This has been a disaster. That loss of DJ and even Viktor Dean has killed us this year. Simply no playmakers on the offense. No playmakers on defense either, but what else is new?

Would it not make sense to bring in a seasoned head coach like June Jones and reassign Nigel Burton to Special Teams and Head of Recruiting? He is either not head coaching material (yet) or is holding back for some reason.

Isn't Barnum accountable for the lack of at least reasonable pass efficiency? He would have to go.

Unless there is planning going on behind the scenes, few of our coaches are deserving of coaching.

June Jones made 2.1m per year before stepping down. It'd have to be some sort of a charity deal on Jones' part.

I've been very patient, but Burton has to go! This is a game that the Viks should have won. Burton has been here 5 years, and has never won a difficult road win. Hate to even say this, but the should've and could''ve are getting old. I almost knew this was going to happen, when the Viks settled for FG's instead of TD's in the first half. Burton just gets outcoached, particularly in the 2nd half of games. Do remember the Cal-Poly game last year. The Viks were ahead by 21 or 24 points at half. Loss that game too. Boy, I'm frustrated!!!!!!!!!!

Clean house, no need for Nigel in this program. Take Barnum with you please! The all or nothing patterns have got to go. Where are those intermediate passes we had against WSU? I'm sorry, but the flea flicker today... There's no words to describe how awful that was.

They rarely throw to the Tight end or in the middle of the field. Talent wise the Viks are top half of the Big Sky, but they may end in the 2nd half of conference in the standings the way their going. Did I mention I'm frustrated?!!!

June Jones' salary isn't news. The point is that he has lots to retire on now and can afford to do pro bono, if he so chooses. He may be inclined to do so for Mouse Davis' sake.

Within the realm of possibility? It depends on relationship, which can be very valuable.

Barnum showed everyone at their homecoming game that they made a great choice NOT selecting him as their head coach. Gimmicks may look good, but ultimately you have to try to win the game sometimes.

I would agree with the part about KM. That pick that he had today was more of a pressure pick at the line, rather than a bad toss.

What is concerning is the plays where the receivers are open, but the cut by the receiver goes the wrong way. Seems like at this point we should be spot on with that. If we're not, at this point I'm going to put that on Barnum. If your receivers and qb are not on the same page after six games, that is a failure.

What was the purpose of the odd formation on the punt?

Are you reading my mind? No answer from me on that one!!!!!!!!! Still frustrated!!!!!!!!!

Cost us the game in my opinion.

We had forced two consecutive punts by North Dakota and the defense seemed to be getting back in a bit of a groove when that happened. With what went down after that, we could have possibly been coming home with a 19-17 win. Sounds like there were only two guys on the side of the field that they took it to the house on us.

So for the coaching staff, why in the hell do you not play the field position game considering that you have one of the best punters in college football?

I wasn't able to listen to the game. What was the situation with the flea flicker that everyone's talking about?

3rd and 5 from the 18 and we run a flea flicker. UND stuffs it for a loss. Didn't even fool little old granny in the corner of the barn.

We need short passes in the passing game. I don't know if Barnum is calling all those long passes or KM just likes jacking it up deep every time, but it's not working. And how he can't be on the same page with receivers is ridiculous. If the out patterns aren't working, get rid of them and call other routes. It's simple as that.

Al very good points about the offense and what is wrong there. It has been well documented about peculiar play calling and such. But I still think our defense is what lost this game. We let the worst offense in the Big Sky, a team that hadn't scored more than 18 points in any game, to go 5-5 on long third down plays in the third quarter and also let them score 21 points in the second half. One has to think the play calling would have been different if we stop them on one of those 3rd and 17 plays.
