Gameday Thread Final Eags 45 v. Bears 21

Visperas throws a nice deep ball for a TD.

UNC is pretty bad. I'm not sure how they won any games this year.

Finally saw him spin a couple of nice balls. Watched a Bears game earlier this season and they weren't as terrible as they appear today.. Looks to be a good win today. Burkett out there now.

Strangely, Eastern played quite well today. Yeah, UNC was bad.. but had we shown this kind of fight in a few other games, we'd have been better than 3-8. Defense still got gashed on the run, but UNC had absolutely nothing for a passing offense. It made the game a lot easier on us.

The one thing I liked was that we actually found a running back and fed him. We need a 20+ carry back, and I think Tuna fits that mold.

Visperas looked good. Poised. His play ball handling after the snap actually helped the run and pass games. This was a 6-5 team with Visperas and a commitment to the run game. 5 good backs IMO. Water under the bridge.

Hope we don't lose too many players to indifference or the portal. No positive's for how things were handled this season but ever hopeful during this holiday season. We'll know more on the early signing if those that have committed already ink the page in December.

For a period of time throughout the game the electricity was on and fans all looked around nodding heads and saying this is what could have been going on all season. Doesn't mean we would have won all our league games but at least would have had that electricity on at times. Had it all along and Best for whatever reason was best buddies with Gunner, you could see it after first game. Admire his dedication to a 6th year player who worked very hard tried to be a leader and really did his best. Granted UNC isn't very good at all...either were we but sure felt diff in that stadium and looking at players when Visperas did some magic lifted spirits and lit a fire. Sure was fun to have that inner feeling again, a little bit of electricity in my gut...was very fun. We will lose players but the key is bringing IN the right players and lots of them...good transfers and good portal players will be key!

QBs tend to get too much credit and too much blame. Visperas was solid yesterday, but Talkington had some good games as well. Ultimately, it just felt like the team really wanted to win and it showed. Obviously, UNC being a heap of garbage helped, but tackling and blocking seemed on a level we hadn’t seen all year. Despite the horrific season, it was nice to see the guys gel and put together a really good game for once. It was the only game all season where the guys actually looked relaxed and having fun.
