Defense is getting thrashed already 17-3
It doesn't look good at all. 24- 12 at half. #25 Gordon limped off the field and cal poly went right at his replacement for a 50+ yard strike. Jason Smith answers with a pick right before halftime. The Hornets look awful and are not consistent anywhere on the field. :?

Jason Smith looked tentative, missing open WRs by over/under throwing them. I would open up the QB competition over the next two weeks of practice.
Thank god for the bye week... Matt Nichols is going to throw for 400 yards against us, especially if Deonte isn't ready to go.
We never got a chance to establish the run because we played from behind the entire game.

This team is not prepared to play. The defense is horrible. The offense has some weapons but Sperbeck isn't using them. I saw no heart today. They seemed to play tentative from the start. This was a absolute joke of a showing from this team today. I'm tired of drinking the kool-aid about this program. Sperbeck was talking about this team like he knew they were gonna be able to get it done this year. I'm very disappointed.

From the two games I have seen, thanks for the video link Kadeezy, the Hornets look like they are just going through the motions. Neither side is in synch. We have a stable of highly touted RB's and can only generate 42yds. as a team? Twenty three minutes of possession? This from a veteran QB and coaching staff??
Remember, CP has a new coach, new skill position players, changed D scheme, first game and they still manhandled the Hornets.
Has there been any progress to the program?
I still say it was Mooshiagian who is coaching. Has anyone noticed that the Hornet defense has been, at best, crappy over the past say 15 years? What is the common denominator in that sub-par glory?

Why don't we have dedicated OC? Part of our PlayDoh play calling could stem from Sperbeck being genuinely un-imaginative or overwhelmed during game time.

It's a bit too early to panic. But if push comes to shove, there's a perfectly good coach up in Rocklin....
